About Me

  1. 1. OpenStack Projects For WHMCS 1.11.0 Not long ago, we explored how automation builds stability in OpenStack in one of our case studies. Following that example, many providers rely on our OpenStack Projects For WHMCS to keep resource management accessible, while staying fully integrated with WHMCS. That's why we're excited to share version 1.11.0, another step forward in flexibility and control, and a release we're proud to announce as official supporters of the OpenInfra Foundation. The highlight is Domain-Only Mode, letting providers create domains without an initial project. This way, clients can set up their own projects within the limits of their domain. Together with it, you'll also find: Safer procedures for terminating services, A new cron command for missing QoS policy assignments, Extra visibility controls in the client area, Stronger Shell Hooks support with detailed logs. Plus, there are numerous adjustments that polish the details: a reorganized configuration page, refined quota metric names, clearer tooltips, better placeholders, updated translations, and stronger framework support. OpenStack Projects For WHMCS also happens to be our Deal of the Week, so if you'd like to dive into the technical aspects of the new release, now's a perfect time! Learn more about the powers of OpenStack Projects For WHMCS 1.11.0! 2. BIG NEWS: Plesk Extended For WHMCS 4.0 Plesk has become one of the most versatile control panels in the industry, recognized for reducing complexity and giving providers the tools they need to manage their infrastructure with high levels of transparency and operational confidence. For more than 12 years, our Plesk Extended For WHMCS module has been walking hand in hand with that mission. It's a well-established solution, known for opening up remote management of hosting accounts and their countless functions without ever leaving WHMCS. Now, we're excited to share that the story continues with a whole new generation: version 4.0! This release redefines what the module can do - technically, functionally, and strategically - with: Brand-New Framework - Core tools have been fully rewritten to harness the modern Plesk REST API for faster, more reliable performance. Access Control - Fine-tune which staff members can view or manage specific module areas and actions. Easy Translations - Adjust the module's language files directly from the addon. Advanced Logs - Track and analyze detailed service logs with full status statistics. Smarter Addon Ordering - Provision Plesk addons automatically through WHMCS configurable options. Bulk Email Cleanup - Save time by clearing out multiple addresses in one go. Simplified Database Access - Choose to use a user's credentials by default when accessing phpMyAdmin. We don't call every release a milestone, but Plesk Extended For WHMCS 4.0 really is one! Have a closer look at the 4.0 generation of Plesk Extended For WHMCS! 3. Domain Reseller: 5 WHMCS must-haves, one monthly bundle, $470 saved! Every day, more than 150k expired domains are released back to the market. For resellers, this constant flow of opportunities can be exciting, but without the right tools it quickly turns into a burden. Buying, managing, and renewing domains may look simple from the outside, yet behind the scenes, it often means juggling multiple modules and hoping they work together smoothly. To change that, we've built one of our WHMCS Module Bundles around key Domain Reseller workflows. Instead of scattered tools, it brings five trusted WHMCS modules into one complete solution, so you can: Distribute TLDs effortlessly to your reseller network via API. Deliver DNS services that are both flexible and under your control. Make domain orders easier with advanced search and smart suggestions. Keep customers informed with SMS updates and clear renewal notifications. The result is a reselling operation that feels consistent, reliable, and profitable, backed by a single monthly subscription that saves you $470 per year! If you've been looking for a way to simplify reselling while giving clients a smoother experience, our monthly bundle is the right place to start. Turn everyday domain management into a real growth engine! 4. PanelAlpha v1.4.4 Anyone who has managed WordPress hosting for a while knows it's never static. Even if you've spent countless hours shaping plans for every possible client need, sooner or later the unexpected arrives - a site grows faster than planned, a client suddenly needs more capacity, or email delivery turns into a quiet frustration. The PanelAlpha team built version 1.4.4 to help you move smoothly with this complex rhythm. Flexible server configuration now allows providers to fine-tune resources for a single chosen account, without duplicating or reshaping entire plans. Email setup also becomes less of a guessing game, as DKIM and SPF are automated in the background and their status can be shown to clients when needed. Behind the scenes, the release smooths out other details too: faster onboarding for pre-created accounts, quicker access to log files, and a refreshed PanelAlpha Engine for better stability. 3. We've had our ENOM connection for years now. No changes to our default nameservers. Suddenly - we cannot register domains. Order Accept Encountered ProblemsNo nameservers are defined for the server this domain is assigned to. Please correct and try again. Anyone else experiencing this?
  4. Hey all, We're writing this post to spread the word for our latest WHMCS add-on for domain suspension, which we believe can bring some benefit to the WHMCS community here. Back in 2021, inspired by the large influx of scams that came with the pandemic, we launched a service called SUSPENDED.page, which is a "wildcard" DNS and web server, allowing anyone to park a domain by simply updating the nameservers of the domain to the one provided from SUSPENDED.page. Once the DNS changes are propagated, the website will start resolving to a nice-looking website over HTTPS, notifying the visitors and the domain owner that the website is suspended. It requires almost zero effort for web hosting companies to use, but we decided to make it even easier by creating a WHMCS module that will allow the administrators to suspend/unsuspend domains with a single click. The service is free, and we intend to keep it that way for eternity 🙂 You can read more about this in our 2021 blog post: Free Parking for Suspended Domains... The WHMCS addon module is FREE, and we open-sourced its code: https://github.com/Black-HOST/suspended so feel free to check it out. Any suggestions or recommendations are welcomed.

  7. Hi, I'd like to check who would have the same context as me and if there is a better way to configure my WHMCS for this : Several of our clients have an automated renewal option chosen by credit card or bank transfer (initiated by us ie SEPA) so they have nothing to do to keep the services. Those payments are processed in the last day of the month though, and some domains expire at the registrar before that, hence if we do nothing the domain can be expired/suspended before the automated payment confirming the renewal is processed and therefore automatically renews the name at the registrar. Right now we just suspend the registrar API with the domain, renew it manually so it continues working, and once the payment arrives we reconnect the registrar API so that the name is not renewed once more for free. Any better way to do that ? Thanks for your attention.

  11. The hook assigns clients to groups based on the number of active domains in their accounts (Active, Grace and Redemption). This is particularly useful for Domain Pricing slabs. Let's take this code as example. $groups['1'] = '10'; $groups['2'] = '25'; $groups['3'] = '100'; The key of $groups array (eg. ['1']) represents the ID of the group while the value the number of active domains. According to the above configuration, here is what happens: Customer A has 10 domains. He goes to client group ID 2. Next day domains become 9. The the customer is removed from the group Customer B has 99 domains. He still goes to client group ID 2 but will be moved to 3 in case he manages to reach 100 domains Customer C has 250 domains. Group ID 3 The hook runs with WHMCS daily cron job meaning that customers are moved (or removed) from groups on a daily basis. Optionally, you can use the following feature to add some restrictions: $activeCustomers rules apply only on Active customers (boolean true or false) Get the Code »
  12. Hi, I want to autocalculate the 2-10 year prices based on first but I don't want to lose the different figures I've added over 500 domains for the first year. Does it work independently of the ability to input prices please as it looks to be part of the same section. Thanks 🙂
  13. Domain Search is not working properly... It doesn't show any suggestion neither any cost? Activity Log Shows Error: Unable to perform route mode test: cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received Can anyone help me with this, please?
  14. can anyone help and provide a solution for me?.. i use whmcs to automate payment for domains, hosting, etc. but after I click the hosting package I choose and then choose the desired domain. when I want to check the domain that I choose. it looks like in the picture. buffering did i do the wrong configuration?? but where is the error i need to fix ?
  15. Hi WHMCS Can you please add domain search in the header of the admin area next to the intelligent search.
  16. If you use a supported registrar, WHMCS' Registrar TLD Sync can keep your domain pricing up to date without a lot of effort. However, it does NOT sync the pricing to your existing clients' domains. The Bulk Pricing Updater isn't suited to this task either, requiring many steps to update pricing for different TLDs, billing cycles and domain addons. I put together a SQL query that will set the recurring amount of all client domain names in tbldomains with your current domain pricing, and figured I'd share it for those whom it might benefit. This was written for WHMCS 8.1.3 and MariaDB 10.3. I recommend testing it on a copy of your data, and I make no warranties regarding it's suitability to your particular environment, nor claim that it is free of error. That said, it works well for me. Here are some suggestions for testing this on a copy of your data, assuming you have access to the server shell as root: 1. Export a copy of the relevant tables and import into a work database: mysqldump <your-whmcs-db-name> tblclients tbldomains tbldomainpricing tblpricing > ~/workdb.sql mysqladmin create workdb mysql workdb < ~/workdb.sql 2. Get an idea of the current recurring amount for all your active domains (to give you something to compare against after running the sql script): mysql workdb MariaDB [workdb]> select sum(recurringamount) from tbldomains where status = 'Active'; +----------------------+ | sum(recurringamount) | +----------------------+ | 50029.21 | +----------------------+ 1 row in set (0.000 sec) 3. Create a file to hold the SQL that you can run against the database: nano ~/domain_pricing_sync.sql The SQL to put in the file: SET @idp = (select ssetupfee from tblpricing where type = 'domainaddons'); SET @dns = (select msetupfee from tblpricing where type = 'domainaddons'); SET @fwd = (select qsetupfee from tblpricing where type = 'domainaddons'); update tbldomains d, tbldomainpricing dp, tblpricing p, tblclients c set d.recurringamount = case d.registrationperiod when 1 then p.msetupfee + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 2 then p.qsetupfee + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 3 then p.ssetupfee + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 4 then p.asetupfee + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 5 then p.bsetupfee + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 6 then p.monthly + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 7 then p.quarterly + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 8 then p.semiannually + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) when 9 then p.annually + (d.registrationperiod * ((d.idprotection * @idp) + (d.dnsmanagement * @dns) + (d.emailforwarding * @fwd))) end where d.is_premium != 1 and dp.extension = right(d.domain, length(d.domain) - locate('.', d.domain) + 1) and p.type = 'domainrenew' and p.relid = dp.id and c.id = d.userid and p.currency = c.currency; 4. Save the file and the run it against your work database: mysql workdb < ~/domain_pricing_sync.sql 5. Repeat step 2 and see what your total looks like after the update. Once you're comfortable the SQL works for you, you can run it against your production database manually after you update domain pricing, or even schedule it via cron if you want to automatically keep pricing in sync. There probably isn't a good reason for setting it up to run via cron, unless like me you don't like the way WHMCS allows a user to register or manually renew a domain for X number of years, and then assumes the next renewal should be for that same number of years. I personally run this SQL daily via cron, with this line added to the very top of the SQL: update tbldomains set registrationperiod = 1; This way if a client has registered or manually renewed for longer than a year, this will reset the domain to a 1 year registration/renewal with the current pricing for one year. It can certainly be argued that it's a bit of an overkill to run it daily just to keep a few clients' domains who occasionally renew for longer periods reset to 1 year, but I do it anyway. For me it takes a little under a minute to run this against 5,135 domain names. The SQL is written to handle those who use multiple currencies (I do not), and does NOT adjust the pricing for any premium domain names that are properly set (tbldomains.is_premium = 1). It does update ALL domains regardless of status. An additional where clause to only update domains with certain statuses (i.e. where status = 'Active' or where status not in ('Expired', 'Cancelled', 'Fraud', 'Transferred Away')) can easily be added to limit the amount of records updated if you wish. This does not update any open invoices, so it's conceivable a client with an open renewal invoice will still pay an outdated price and have the domain renewed. WHMCS doesn't store the domain extension separately in the tbldomains table, so it has to be calculated on the fly, hence "right(d.domain, length(d.domain) - locate('.', d.domain) + 1)". The assumption is that everything including and to the right of the first instance of a period in the domain name represents the extension. I can't think of a case where this would present a problem, but it's possible and something to consider before deciding to use this. Someone who is more motivated than I could take this concept and build an addon module with more flexibility, such as nice UI providing the ability to only update selected TLDs with selected Status values or some such. Feel free to do so if you are so inclined. Use at your own risk and test thoroughly before running against your production db!
  17. hello all, We have successfully setup WHMCS and have a few hosting accounts running well, and are now testing out domain management. We are currently configured to use eNom as the registrar, sync appears to be working, and even the pricing sync is OK. We have initiated our first domain transfer away from GoDaddy into our own WHMCS environment. GoDaddy side is showing "transfer pending". It's now been past the waiting period and date they gave in email communication for able to reject the transfer, so we are anticipating the transfer to now go through. In an effort to research and follow it along to see where in the process it is, our WHMCS (both as an admin and also as the user who is transferring the domain) is showing "transferred away", and eNom does not list the domain. Are there any other troubleshooting steps to check? I guess we were expecting eNom to possibly have a "pending incoming" or something to show what is currently in process. Then the other confusing part is that WHMCS is showing transferred away - that makes sense from the GoDaddy side (even though it's not showing completed), but as far as our WHMCS and eNom is concerned, it should be incoming, and we don't appear to have a way to investigate further. thanks in advance!
  18. Is it possible to get the domain addon prices through the API? GetTLDPricing does not give this information. Thanks in advance. Kevin Sheahan
  19. Hey all On my WHMCS portal homepage beneath the domain search box I have 3 domain logos showing (ignore the sizing issue!) as per the below screenshot. However, when I click through to the pricing page I have all of my Spotlight TLDs visible, as per the second screenshot. My question is what controls which TLDs are shown on the homepage? Why is WHMCS showing only 3 (and those particular 3) on the homepage? Thanks Matt

  21. Hello every one, I just started my iptv business and i am trying to understand few things . I am using smarters addon , and when i add a reseller i have to enter the reseller domain or register with a new one. my question is , how does the server connects to the domain? it means that when the reseller sell product the system automatically detect that this domain sold something and connects it to the reseller user from WHMCS? Thanks alot, Ivan.
  22. Hello, I am looking for a way to edit a order form to only show sub domain option. What do I have to edit? Thank you in advance Tim
  23. Is there an option to toggle on DNS management by default for ALL clients/domain purchases?
  24. Hello when i go to select my own domain (testing purpose) it gets stuck at Verifying your domain selection Using template SIX and on 8.0.2 Using ENOM and TLDRS are set up just in case any assistance would be really appreciated!
  25. Is anyone still using eNom? How are people dealing with their constant price increases? They have become as unreliable a partner as cPanel. We got yet another email last night about price increases - unfortunately we still have a ton of domains with them and are kind of stuck. Does anyone have advice on how to transfer out en masse? ie some strategy for transferring out on renewal? Now in addition to the annual spend requirements, they have minimum registration requirements - ie you have to spend $x per year AND register x new domains to maintain your status. We have moved all our new registrations to Hexonet a few years ago because their prices are WAY better, so we register 0 new domains with eNom. I'm trying to rid ourselves of partners I consider unreliable like cPanel and eNom to not have to dread every email that comes from them and just waiting for the next price increase. As an aside, I highly recommend everyone reach out to Hexonet - their prices are dramatically better than even eNom's "Platinum Plus" tier, and they are very flexible. Support has been excellent (they reply in minutes, vs weeks from eNom), and their WHMCS integration is also much better.
