Site Builder, WP Tool Kit, really?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Playing around with v8.2.

Has the new Site Builder service even been tested?

SSL warnings for demos and formating errors on the sales page. How could that not have been noticed before deciding to add the new service?

The new WP Toolkit addon without any control over which products to assign it to seems nothing more than a money grab to me. Granted it obviously can't be assigned to a non applicable product but what if a user wants to offer it to shared cPanel plans but not reseller cPanel plans?

Would really like to see WHMCS return to the days of adding features/enhancing areas that users actually cared about. Every update these days seems all about bloating the software with more low quality WHMCS affiliated services.

Regards,
Jack

Such a shame. I remember when a new WHMCS version was exciting, reported bugs were fixed and features where added based on user feedback.

Hi @zomex,

I've tested on a stock v8.2.0 installation with the Twenty-One theme, and do not observe any formatting issues on the Site Builder landing page (see attached).

Can you please ensure you've got a totally stock set of theme files and then try again.

Thanks for the report of the certificate error on the preview pages. I have reported this to Web.com.

Hello John,

I can confirm it's completely stock, I have also tested using the Six template and the error remains.

As for the SSL issue that says a lot about the lack of testing for v8.2. It seems that any service that pays you a commission gets integrated regardless of the low quality.

Found the cause of the formatting error (thanks @brian! for spotting it). Not a issue with WHMCS itself.

When activating the service my dev hosting timed out. So I had to re-activate it. That created a duplicate of one of the plans which caused the formating error.

The solution if anyone experiences timeout issues is to de-activate to ensure the products are fully removed from the DB then re-activate.
