when using .download with some domain like this "vietnam.download"

and result of whmcs

Congratulations! vietnam.download is available!

but you can't register this domain

this occurs because Famous Four Media, who own the .download TLD, operates a reserved names policy - meaning that certain strings are banned from registration - countries being one of them.

http://www.famousfourmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/FFM_Reserved_Names_Policy_27_Nov_2013.pdf

Country and territory names contained in the following internationally recognized lists shall be initially reserved at the second level and at all other levels within the TLD at which the Registry Operator provides for registrations.

it's a fault with their whois output that is doesn't accurately reflect this policy in the results - you may want to email FamousFourMedia about this and see if they will correct it.

can you check .download record?

.download|whois.nic.download|Not found:

its not a right one

just tested it and it is still the correct entry.

as with the above post - http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?86494-New-gTLDs-Whois-Server&p=437818#post437818 - perhaps you are searching for a reserved word... what did you search for to test the entry?

if it's a reserved word, the whois will show it as available, but it isn't... that's a fault of the whois server not being accurate, and that can't be fixed by changing the above whoisservers entry.

if it's going to be an issue, you might need to consider not offering .download as one of your TLD options.

your entry for .xyz is wrong, it should be...

.xyz|whois.nic.xyz|DOMAIN NOT FOUND

both TLDs are run by CentralNic, so perhaps your server is having connection issues with theirs - both TLDs work here.

I am getting an error when using this.

Whois Lookup: paibkk.xyz > paibkk.xyz is Registered.

While it is NOT registered !!!

i'm not seeing the same error...

are you sure your setting for .xyz is correct? the above entry is definitely correct.

.xyz|whois.nic.xyz|DOMAIN NOT FOUND

I've found the problem.

.xyz|whois.nic.xyz|DOMAIN NOT FOUND

had several spaces behind in my script that was the problem.

Thanks for advise.

That's what I thought but it fails on every query.

I just double-checked this, and it's definitely correct!

existing domains found via google are showing as registered in WHMCS...

seejay.cloud

odin.cloud

atomia.cloud

but (correctly) showing the following as available...

seejay2.cloud

odin2.cloud

atomia2.cloud

I can see that "google.cloud" and "microsoft.cloud" are showing as 'available' - but the TLD is still in Sunrise, so I guess registrations for these would be rejected without the proper trademark paperwork.

Looking for:

.com.bb

.com.bs

.com.cw

.com.do

for three of those (.bb, .cw & .do), i'm not aware of a working whois/webform setting that WHMCS can use - for .bs, you should be able to use the form @ register.bs, but that website is currently down.

- - - Updated - - -

I get this:

Sorry! seejay2.cloud is already taken!

that's sounds to me like you have an error in your whoisservers.php file - perhaps an extra | somewhere.

I double-checked, no extra | anywhere. Also, the domains immediately before and after .cloud work. Pretty much anything I put in with .cloud doesn't work (says it's not available). This is what the module log shows:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<interface-response>

<Domain>microsoftthgffngfgh.cloud</Domain>

<RRPCode>541</RRPCode>

<RRPText>TLD is not live</RRPText>

<Domain>microsoftthgffngfgh.com</Domain>

<RRPCode>210</RRPCode>

<RRPText>Domain available</RRPText>

are you using a third-party addon module for these domain searches, not the built-in search in the client or admin areas ?

No, I am using the built-in native domain search.

weird... i've just tried it on both the client and admin side of v6.2, and i'm getting it's available on both...

are you using "Standard Whois" for lookups (general settings -> domains), or eNom NameSpinner ? I'm suspecting it's eNom because you mentioned the module log and that can use it.

as far as I know, eNom NS doesn't use the whoisservers.php file, it uses an API direct to eNom - so if eNom consider the TLD not live yet, it might give the response you see.

if so, you could try switching to "Standard Whois" to test this and see if there is any difference.

for Trinidad & Tobago, use...

.co.tt|https://www.nic.tt/cgi-bin/search.pl?name=|HTTPREQUEST-is available

for Dominica, use...

.co.dm|whois.nic.dm|not found

for the US Virgin Islands, there is a webform - but WHMCS doesn't like it, so assume there isn't a working whois solution for now.
