Anybody have these?

the *.es TLDs are already in the default whoisservers file and work - there is a port 43 whois, but it's private and you'd need to register with red.es to use it... or use an API solution.

Hello all,

Can someone confirm if the following for .clinic is correct:

.clinic|whois.donuts.co|Domain not found.

It's the one in the default file along with the one found in the free BrontoBytes offering....however searching anything comes back with available.

Thanks

personally, i'd use...

.clinic|whois.nic.clinic|Domain not found

but the one you're using should be fine as it's a Donuts domain... both should find the following as being registered (first 3 results via google)...

keith.clinic

bikini.clinic

align.clinic

Is anyone else having issues with .xyz and .uk.com? I'm getting in my activity log:

WHOIS Lookup Error for '***.xyz': Error: 110 - Connection timed out

WHOIS Lookup Error for '***.uk.com': Error: 110 - Connection timed out

The /includes/whoisservers.php entries appear correct though?

.uk.com|whois.centralnic.com|DOMAIN NOT FOUND
.xyz|whois.nic.xyz|Not found

Bit stumped how to resolve this. Edith

both TLDs are run by CentralNic, so perhaps your server is having connection issues with theirs - both TLDs work here.

Hi Brian, Thank you, I did play around with settings for .xyz, I've now changed it back to the version you are using.

I also contacted CentralNic and they've unblocked me so for now it's all good. Their policy is:

Queries that come from “untrusted” sources are rate-limited at a maximum query rate of 240 queries per hour. Any queries in excess of this query rate will be refused until the query rate falls below this limit. 4. If the query rate from an “untrusted” source exceeds 300 queries per hour, the source is permanently blocked.

CentralNic reserves the right to temporarily block query sources where needed to ensure the stability of the whois service, or to protect personal data from bulk collection. We periodically analyse query logs to detect patterns of abusive activity and will take steps to prevent or mitigate any abusive activity found.

I assume with the multi domain look up tool it's quite easy to get blocked if you are not a trusted source.

it is - I helped another member yesterday who was getting blocked by the Australian registry - their limit is 200 queries per day rather than CentralNic's 240 per hour! :)
