Evolve Web Hosting
Bootstrap 5 was released almost 3 years ago. Is it ever going to make it into WHMCS? Anytime soon?
Mandalorian
Not long. ETA 2124 AD. Jokes aside, we know from experience and the 8.10 beta release announcement that whmcs will release even more third party bloat that no one asked for. The actual features and improvements? Nah, those don't matter for whmcs. Edited March 25 by Mandalorian

AALayer
In my opinion not worth upgrading from BS4 to BS5, maybe to BS6 when it becomes stable. Plus they will have to remove the six template first that is still using BS3. So they can upgrade to BS6 and keep twenty-one BS4.
Evolve Web Hosting
Personally, I'd like to see BS5. There are feature that I like from it including the Dark Mode toggle. I am not asking WHMCS to implement the Dark Mode toggle but it's something that the end user can add. To me, the SIX template is way too old and should be removed.

WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted March 28 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted March 28 Hi all, I don't have any information to share on implementing newer versions of Bootstrap at present. Thank you @Evolve Web Hosting for sharing some information on what you'd use the new BS5 features for, that's helpful for us to know.
leemahoney3
I wouldn't mind even if we could use other frameworks, but a lot of the tables etc. in WHMCS are contained within the encoded source. That really needs sorting.
pRieStaKos
BS is old fashion...It's hilarious that WHMCS is still using 3.4.1
DennisHermannsen
@pRieStaKos WHMCS uses BootStrap 4. Only the Six template (which is 9 years old at this point) uses BootStrap 3.

Except for the admin area, that's still on v3 and you cant even change some of the HTML as it's sitting in encoded files...
Evolve Web Hosting
@WHMCS John It would be really nice to see this upgrade for v9 I only mentioned light/dark mode earlier but there's more that I'd like to utilize including the updated grid, no jquery dependency, offcanvas support and I don't personally need it but I'm sure other customers of yours would like RTL updates. It's a big task but us end users have been paying the increased prices and would appreciate the upgrade.

That's what i thought. Makes most sense. Than after some time releasing a new theme with BS5/6

To allow for the pages of the client area to seamlessly integrate with our main website (we have WHMCS in a sub-directory). Previously when moving from V3 to V4 (before you supported it) we had to write a ton of custom CSS to "fix" the style of the older bootstrap elements (navbar, container widths etc). An upgrade to BS5 will be very useful for many of us.
