Insufficient File Permissions during upgrade

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade from 7.7.1 to 7.8.3 and I keep on getting this error.

I have checked the file permissions and even provisionally tried setting them to 777 but I still get this error. 

Not quite sure what to try now...

If anyone could advise what I should try next?
