[resolved] Graphs in reports stopped working

Most of the graphs in the reports stopped working today, with errors such as:

 

'undefined' is not a function (evaluating 'a[mc](ae)')×

 

and

 

a[mc] is not a function

 

I've confirmed this with other WHMCS users, using both 5.1.x and 5.2.x.

We didn't do anything to cause this and it's affecting all versions, so I'm hoping it's just a temporary problem with the Google Graphs API. Will do some digging and come back to you with what I find.

+1 from us, graphs are not working anymore, admin homepage graphs: "Object 2012 has no method 'split'"

 

Probably Google made some changes at jsapi code: https://www.google.com/jsapi

So, it looks like the problem wasn't temporary. Any ideas?

Ok so here's what I've found. Google did push out an update to the Google Charts API on November 26th, which strangely enough is exactly when this issue started. The update details can be seen here: https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/release_notes And after doing some digging and playing around, the issue appears to be that their API is no longer accepting integer values for graph data set labels, it has to be a string. And when we provide a year such as 2012 or 2013, that's where it's falling down. Now looking at their changelogs, there was no intentional change made for this so it looks like it is a bug in their new update. But if and when they fix it is anyone's guess, so I am looking at putting together a HotFix for this to ensure all the data labels we pass are in a string format. Will keep you posted.

Running the following reports:

 

Annual Income Report

New Customers

 

where graph often is I get error I get small red box saying "a[sc] is not a function"

 

Other reports seem to be fine.

 

Any ideas?
