Hi, I'd like to check who would have the same context as me and if there is a better way to configure my WHMCS for this : Several of our clients have an automated renewal option chosen by credit card or bank transfer (initiated by us ie SEPA) so they have nothing to do to keep the services. Those payments are processed in the last day of the month though, and some domains expire at the registrar before that, hence if we do nothing the domain can be expired/suspended before the automated payment confirming the renewal is processed and therefore automatically renews the name at the registrar. Right now we just suspend the registrar API with the domain, renew it manually so it continues working, and once the payment arrives we reconnect the registrar API so that the name is not renewed once more for free. Any better way to do that ? Thanks for your attention.

I have two accounts that don't have a credit card on file. (They were lost during a migration somehow). And I don't know what's causing those accounts to be delivered an email EVERY day that says "We tried to bill your card but you don't have one on file." What is the setting that's causing this? The only things I suspect are 2 settings in automation. 1. "Retry every week for..." was set to 0 (but I thought that meant disable not every day. 2. The "Send invoice payment reminder" for 2nd and 3rd were both set to 0 also. But those specifically say 0 to disable. I don't feel like either of those should behave that way though.

action hook Auto-Terminate Free Trials After X Minutes
Kian posted a topic in Katamaze's Free Scripts
Free trials for a limited period is a good marketing strategy to capitalize on the leads you get. The problem with trials is that the smallest unit of time for WHMCS is the day meaning that for example you can't provide a trial for VPS that last for a couple of hours. WHMCS can't "think" for a period of less than a full day. The following action hook allows to automatically terminate the given products/services after a certain number of minutes. It runs AfterCronJob hook point that normally triggers once every 5 minutes. Visit Setup > Automation Settings and make sure that cron.php runs every 5 minutes as suggested by WHMCS. The hook will do the rest. It also logs terminations in Activity Log. Get the Code »- 1 reply

hi all i have noticed that my automation emails from my site are duplicated twice. these emails can be from the orders, new signup's, product renewals and ticket rules like auto close ect. the only emails which are not duplicated are the ones i do manually like going to a client and clicking send mail and the mass mail feature. does anyone have any ideas on this? i originally thought about there being 2 cron jobs active for some reason but no there is only 1. Thanks mark

Hello. I am having some sort of cronjob error it seems. On the main Dashboard i can see the error " Last Automation Run: Never NEEDS ATTENTION" Also in the "systemhealthandupdates" page there is an error : "System Cron Tasks The system cron does not appear to have completed successfully within the last 24 hours. Check your activity logs or learn more about enabling the cron in our documentation." I have gone through other posts regarding this issue but i couldn't find a solution. In whmcs cron page it shows " Cron Status Ok Last Run: 06/06/2020 17:23" I have tried activating the "Display Errors" checkbox in General settings->other tab, then running : /usr/bin/php -q /home2/myuser/whmcsdata/crons/cron.php --force -vvv Then i checked the "System Activity Log" and it had "Domain Sync Cron: Completed". But the error was still there. What else should i try? and why does this happening? Thanks

Hey, I use Zapier to create a new invoice. To customers who paid me through another system. The thing is, the invoice status is "unpaid" even though I actually received the payment. How can you create an automated process that automatically makes such an invoice a "paid" status?
-
Hi, So i recently updated our system and its gone pear shaped. Firstly the cron wouldnt run, Fixed that.. Now i cant get it to process payments. In the admin area if i open the invoice and click attempt capture i get " An error occurred while communicating with the server. Please try again. " When i login as the client open their invoice and click pay now it works. Something is breaking the automation of charging our clients, we havent processed a payment in a about 3 weeks now. I cannot get anymore information out of the site as the where the error is other than there was one. We are using Worldpay future pay. Is anyone able to help ?

Hello there I was looking a best way to create a customized emails to be sent to clients automated (every month or every 3 months or every six month). There is emails templates so I can create new email template, but but to make it automated if all emails templates are related to invoices , products or services? Creating a product or service with amount zero? These emails are intend to just to remember clients that that for examples target time to buy or acquire certain services overdue target time so it is all about client now if he is go on or not. Let 's say this clients do not have subscription service, so eventually he could buy or not. Practice example: There is a hardware maintenance that client should hire my company to do that, so he could forget, so , I will send automated emails to remember this client regarding that, but he could just decide to not do that maintenance now and wait next 3 month (it is client decision as it as not a subscription service) that is why this customized emails wil work just to remember clients regarding that and potentialize my profit because I keep stay step forward for competitor market, because I will not wait for client to remember about that.👍 What is the best way to WHMCS handle that?

Hello, due to our specific busines needs, we need to create invoice on 01/01/2018 with due date 01/01/2018. When changing the automation setting to 0 for: 'Enter the default number of days before the due payment date to generate invoices' it seems to be disabling the invoice creation. The problem with settings due date 1 day before ( 31/12/2017) input this date in the invoice service line and its conflictuel for client Setting up due date on the second of the month goes against our business process. Any idea or work aroung is appreciated. thank you

Despite having no ticket escalation rules setup, every 5 mins (when system cron is run) the following is logged in my admin activity module: System Automated Task: Starting Ticket Escalation Rules This makes the admin activity module fairly useless now, as this is the only recent activity being logged. Any suggestions on how to resolve/disable this? PS 7.1 is looking good otherwise!

Hello, I've submitted a feature request....but wholy hanna, it starts with 1 vote and will likely sit at the bottom for years! I'm looking for some guidance on how others handle this situation. We are moving to WHMCS from another system. Currently we have about 20% of our customers who send in checks. Naturally we would choose the "Mail IN Payment" as their gateway. The settings for how many days before the expiration date is set for 7. That's almost enough time for them to get the checks in before they get the past due notice, but if we change it to 14....then the 80% of our customers who pay with CC will start getting invoices much earlier than they are used to (for 15 years, our old system we are converting from would generate the invoice on the day it was due and charge it). How is everyone else handling this invoice generation? Should we just put it at 14 to prevent the 20% from getting past due notices and explain to the 80% CC customers why they get an invoice early? Ideally, having the option to change WHEN the invoice is generated per gateway would be perfect, but it seems this has not been needed by most.

I’m confused about theWHMCS Crons and what is needed and what is redundant. Unfortunately the docs are not really clear and it would be helpful for me and maybe others to know what is required and what is not. In the WHMCS docs there is a reference to domainsync.php as automatically checking and updating the Status and Expiry date of domains names against the domain registrar. My confusion arises because I see that each registrar also has a cron script in their relevant folders. For example for Enom this is: \whmcs\modules\registrars\enom\enomsync.php The questions I seek the answers to are therefore: Does the domainsync.php script undertake the updating the Status and Expiry date of domains names against the domain registrar? Does it do this for multiple registrars we may be using ? Are the individual cron scripts for each registrar redundant? Finally, there is a general cron script that allows the automation features to run and sends out invoices etc. This is located at /whmcs/admin/cron.php and therefore is it safe to say that users of WHMCS need only the two basic cron scripts; The administrative script /whmcs/admin/cron.php The registrar script whmcs/crons/domainsync.php Is my understanding of this correct ?
