PrvtPilot
I received this thru my contact form, Has anyone else seen such a thing? WHMCS Technical Analyst WHMCS Danny Posted December 20, 2020 WHMCS Technical Analyst Share Posted December 20, 2020 I personally have never seen this before but I am sure it is just SPAM or someone messing with you. I would not worry about it but you can enable the Google reCAPTCHA v2 to help stop these messages from being submitted by the contact form. Whilst no human verification captcha is 100% bullet proof, Google reCaptcha v2 is effective. This can be enabled in WHMCS on the Configuration (wrench icon) > System Settings > General Settings > Other tab. Once configured; this will help protect the client registration page, the ticket submission pages and contact form, as well as the homepage domain checker. Configuration settings are located under Configuration (wrench icon) > System Settings > General Settings > Security tab. For more information on securing your forms please review this help article: https://help.whmcs.com/m/troubleshooting/l/878335-blocking-spam-orders
PrvtPilot
Thanks Danny, I do have reCAPTCHA v2 setup on all my forms, so this was most likely a human that submitted this. And I agree, who ever this Gary Came is he needs to rethink his marketing strategy.

The way it's written it almost sounds like a threat, but it's just someone trying to sell AV software.
steven99
And you'll be fitted with some cement shoes if you tell anyone about this great offer. Protection rackets go digital, lol. That is the first thought I had when reading that. This is a new twist on the extortion spams that I have seen where they say they have hacked your email and hacked your computer and could see all the naught sites that you visited. If you don't pay them $x in bitcoin, they'll release all that info on facebook and make you look real real perverted. Though perhaps they are just reminding you to do a security measures check and confirm everything is updated and functional.
