With heart internet you require domain credits to use their API, you do not need a reseller account to resell domains with them only hosting. At last check, they have UK domain credits and COM domain credits, You cannot register a domain via the API Unless you have the credits in your account. Its been a long time since i setup and used them but when was using heart internet for domain names there was a minimum of 5 credit purchases, for UK domains there was minimum 2 year registration this should have changed now with the recent Nominet changes. This meant a domain registration actually tookup two credits for UK Domain names. The more credits you purchase the cheaper they get. You will need your API Access Details from heart internet. You will also need to ensure your port is open for WHMCS/Heart Internet to communicated, i believe the port is incoming 701

Hi Inmn I would pay the extra if i were you, it really does open up a lot of doors for you, there are features that are just unavailable to indirect whmcs clients. If you don't need them then by all means stay as you are but from the sound of things your ready to move onto the next stage.

Installing a Free WHMCS Theme
And then there was one les replied to kellerkelly's question in Pre-Sales Questions
Many of these free themes also have a normal html format, In those cases you can use the theme to style any website but in order to use whmcs you would need it installed and if you are going that route you might as well just hold off on doing any other work until you get a feel of what whmcs is about and what you need from it. Developing a website to run hosting is extremely complex and whmcs takes most of the hard work out of it for you. -
Automatic installation can be performed on any OS/control panel so long as there is an installer available to suit. Whether this is a whmcs based matter, well actually not really no, there are addon modules as previously mentioned. You should also note that most of whmcs functionality comes from modules, whether they are official releases by the WHMCS team or 3rd party it makes no difference so long as you can drop one in to do what you need. If you do not wish to use an automatic installer, you could setup a server group for each specific application, drop in all the servers that will run the application to that group. In case of cpanel servers you can then setup the skeleton directory to hold the files of the application, when an account is created on the server the files will be immediately replicated into the webroot. That is a good work around, then as long as you make sure the database is created and the config file sorted the rest of an installation can be performed by the client.

Well not really, if your client base is at a high enough level for the currency then you might well be better to do it, Bear in mind there would be no conversion rate to make, it would just be the $40 per month plus your normal transaction fees. In the long run gateways can cost a whole lot more than the $40 to keep a currency open. if its $0.25 + 1.5% then that soon mounts up, 200 monthly sales on a currency will cost you $50 base charge each month. Also note that you rarely get the best exchange rate on a currency with the gateways so if you do convert there to your own currency it could cost you more. For high volumes of sales, a $40 monthly fee is worth it i would think. I only have one currency open at my bank and any payment that comes in that needs converting costs me a fee on top of the normal transaction fees, so its definitely worthwhile considering if your sales can cover it for you.

I think i will do, It wasnt exactly a feature request, more an opinion. I will post the link back here and hopefully this will get support from the community because there are always complaints about the support times and more specifically as mentioned, the way the tickets get bumped to the back of the list on subsequent client updates. Here is my feature request: https://requests.whmcs.com/responses/update-to-ticket-system-whmcs-website-and-whmcs-installations I really do hope this gets some backing, it can only make for better relations between service provider/client in all companies involved.

Close my Company sell WHMS & Modules
And then there was one les replied to Kasimir61's topic in Service Offers & Requests
Whmcs has a no resale policy for its licenses, Anything bought from whmcs or through its resellers cannot be sold on to another person. Any modules you have purchased seperately might be saleable however that will be governed by the terms and conditions of the license of those providers. -
Domain Registrars Issue - Cant Configure Heart Internet
And then there was one les replied to Dicko_md's topic in Using WHMCS
Hi guys, im sure you see what i did, the domain registrars show the page without header sidebar or footer. I found removing the last two modules from my installation solved the problem. whmcs/modules/registrars/ If you bear with me i will get you the names of the two modules i had problems with. The two modules: ventraip: when this module is uploaded to the server i get the out put as described above, (now removed) webnic: This one is different, the only thing that displays when i upload this one is the header of the page and nothing else (now removed) -
It is a well known fact that when you open a support ticket it enters into the ticket queue and an update to a ticket pushes it back to the back of the queue when there is a client update. An admin response takes it out of the queue altogether until there is another client response. I believe however in the future that should definitely be looked at. The first ticket, or the first client response after the last admin response should be used to calculate the ticket position, this way tickets will get seen in their correct turn even when they have been updated by the client. It is a better practice. It might also be useful to have a position counter displayed on the ticket so that as the ticket progresses it can be seen by the client, it might make them less frustrated when it comes to waiting. You could also use the ticket position to decide whether an admin should respond immediately, So lets say when a ticket reaches position 2 or 3 if the ticket is being updated (user is typing) the staff are notified and can hold off responding while the update comes through. the same could be done client side so a user knows when the staff are responding. Obviously this requires some ajax to live update but its got to be better than the way its working now.

What wrong with paypal and whmcs ?
And then there was one les replied to hkmix's topic in Developer Corner
I would first take steps to ensure the email is infact valid from paypal, You will probably have some sort of notification in your paypal account, dont click any links in the email. -

Hi chris, i wasnt suggesting that you only release security updates to a small group, i was actually suggesting that if you have a complete working system setup somewhere with compliance from other companies that would facilitate this setup being thoroughly tested then all updates, no matter what they are can be tested by the community before mainstream release. The bottom line chris and i am sure you can appreciate this, we are getting fed up with updates to fix one thing that break another. This last update took three attempts to get it right and infact it still isn't right, there are still things that were broken by the updates that are still broken even now as i write this. If whmcs cant find a way to test these updates properly before release then you are just going to have to stop updating until you can. Just like whmcs we are trying to run a business and when things get broken (you know what my case was i reported it on here) its our business that suffers for it. -
I have to agree with this, i have not manually applied any promotions on orders mainly because i rarely have to manually complete orders but if the time does come i can very well see how frustrating it would be to have the promotions working in this way. There is no reason the admin area should ignore the promotion settings what is the point in that? I think this needs working over to make sure that the promotions are functioning consistently throughout the installation.

Hosting with free renewal domain seems not working
And then there was one les replied to babarc's topic in Using WHMCS
The pricing doesnt matter in this instance, the calculation is done at invoice generation time and the entry on the invoice should either be nil priced or have a credit for the value. Have you double checked that the service has the correct settings? it should be the hosting that you set to have a free domain. if you then click onto the domain, you can check the calculate on save box and see if the price changes on the actual product (clients account area) -
Getting clients back into their account
And then there was one les replied to malfunction's topic in Using WHMCS
If you think they would use their credit card pin, thats easy, dont allow them to enter a 4 digit pin, when faced with a pin that requires more than 4 they are more likely to enter a completely different pin. There are people that no matter what you do will get locked out, the only thing i can suggest in such a case it to take as many steps as it takes to make you 100% certain that the person you are speaking to i either the account holder or an authorised agent. I understand your remarks about the system, i do believe that security all over the system should be as high as possible, this would include use of pins, clearance levels etc to gain access to secure or personal information. But that i believe is a whole sideline to subject matter. -
Getting clients back into their account
And then there was one les replied to malfunction's topic in Using WHMCS
Somebody already mentioned above the easiest step which is to call the telephone number they have on account although all this does is prove they have access to the phone could be a mobile and could be lost right? The pin number option is fairly simple actually as long as its a regular part of the security steps this helps to imprint it in memory. If you have irate clients over security matters then you really need to learn how to speak to those clients. You will need to quite firmly but politely decline their request for sending to an alternate email address. Make it very clear that the reason these protocols are in place are to protect the clients account from unauthorised access. Outside of this there are other means, Checking the last transaction id from the gateway, its unlikely they would forget that password also unless they set up both at the same time. I find though the easiest for the client if other methods are unavailable would be for them to photograph a recent utility bill from their listed address which they can submit by a ticket or send by email. passports/driving license are another good option for a photograph -

I'm not entirely sure on the best way forward but something needs to be done, currently the method you suggested occurs with beta testers, but this can only be done in a development installation, those are not for production installations. Also consider, how would you get a company on board to risk their business/profits by testing in a production area. I'm not sure you would find one unless there were assurances and insurance in place. This is definitely a problem area of whmcs, the only real way i can see forward is to negotiate with the companies that whmcs make modules for use with and see if they can come up with a solution that would allow full functionality testing of the software in a dev installation. Obviously to these companies the benefit is a reliable module that will boost their own profits once completed. Another option would be for whmcs to make a small outlay to these companies in the form of required accounts to make these tests but when you consider who actually benefits from the testing of the modules i dont think this would be practical. -
In order to make the products SEO friendly you make new pages for product groups, on these pages you can add key words description, the url will be exactly as you name the php file and such. the content on the pages is your content so if it isnt SEO friendly then you have not done it right. I would say however, its far more important that your website is easy to use, and your visitors can find the information they are looking for. If your site is geared toward a search engine then your visitors may find it harder to use and it has to be said, the biggest part of SEO is actually visitors. If your getting enough visitors the search engines will take notice. Instead of worrying about search engines. worry about your visitors and use analytics tools to assess how effective your website is, with visitors will come your rankings in the search engines.

We are seeing many problem with updates and the problem doesnt seem to be going away, there have been a lot of complaints on the forums and i have no doubt some very angry clients of WHMCS. Im just wondering if changing the way updates are released would make a difference. Beta testing occurs for a release of new features/upgrades, but i think this practice could also benefit updates and patch releases. It was mentioned by one forum mod that its not possible to test out everything on an update, well i think it is. Setup an installation, push out the patch/update to that installation, You can then inform us of the testing and let us go through and bug report it. Once your patch is "passed" it can be pushed out to us. I know security fixes are more urgent, but this same process could work because you dont release information on the security updates anyway.

how do i pay my invoices automatically on paypal?
And then there was one les replied to chrcol's topic in Feedback
ITs not difficult to do and you could do it with a hook, what if a client comes along and makes the payment very late purposely and repeats it time and again. you could lose a lot of your income from that sort of practice, i would say easily 1 - 2 months of your income on the clients account could be lost. -
Oh ok i don't offer all of the domains through enom, to try and keep my prices competitive i pick the cheapest registrar on a per domain basis so i wasn't aware of that side of things with certain domains.
