Implementing QR Code on paid Invoice

Hello Everyone...

I need to implement a QR code and  append two other values (External System Invoice Number, Serial No, date and time) on the invoice. These are the business rules. 

I need to  include the values + QR code on the invoice only if the customer makes the payment against it. 

The QR code URL  and the values is provided by a 3rd party system once we make an API call to the provided endpoint with the product description, amount, tax applicable....

What is the best approach to implementing this.
