Hello :11_blush:

I'd like to know how domain transfer checker works in WHMCS, I need to add domain transfer to WHMCS and bought a domain: eferferf.pvt.ge

when I click Transfer Domain from client side and enter this domain, it says that domain is unavailable, not sure how it works, does it check entered domain on registrar servers ? or does it check in WHMCS database ?

it causes problem and I can't go to next page where I have to enter EPP Code.

Can someone, please, explain how this domain transfer checker works in WHMCS ? :11_blush:

that domain isn't registered according to the whois... just an example? :?:

it first checks to see that you've added pricing for that TLD (you can't transfer a TLD when you haven't); then a whois search (as it would be pointless to transfer an unregistered domain!)...

which orderform template are you using? if it were standard_cart, you'd get to enter the domain and EPP code (if required) on the same page...

if you have already registered the domain, then you don't necessarily need to "transfer" it within WHMCS, you could add it manually...

whois has an old data and that's why it says that it's available

screenshot from the site that registers .ge domains (ignore google's weird translation, site doens't have English version)

This is why I asked how WHMCS handles domain transfer checks, transferring is quite new to me and those domain statuses where kinda confusing lol I wanted to make sure it was sending request to registrar's servers and since it's whois' fault I can ask them to update data.

Thank's a lot!

they do have a port43 whois option - and you can use that within WHMCS... we discussed that via PM last month if you recall.

i'd transfer it outside of WHMCS and just add it manually to WHMCS - not that I have my own domains stored in WHMCS anyway.

whois works fine, it checks old domains, problem is that they have an old data there, so it still says newly registered domains are available. if it was port 43 fault it would return that port 43 needs to be opened or some error.

I emailed them and hope they'll update it soon.

ahm nope, I have to do it using WHMCS.

oh ok, the database isn't updated as fast as other TLDs... yeah, I can see that could cause an issue.

that's a shame - working around WHMCS can often be faster and simpler than working with it. :smile2:
