Our whmcs database size is around 20GB so is this good to update whmcs 6 to 7.1

Hello Everyone,

 

I am going to update my company WHMCS from 6 to 7.1, but its my sql database size is around 20GB. so its good to update it. if yes, so there is any issues with this?

if you get your license direct from WHMCS, then i'd suggest getting a free developers license from them to test whether your site works in v7.1 - not only will you have to test the core product, but also your hooks, templates, addons etc too.

 

I know you're using a custom template, which might work fine with v6, but they'd be no guarantees it would work with v7 - so you'll need to test it thoroughly.

 

but frankly, if the site is working fine with v6, and you don't need/want any of the new features of v7.1+, then you could stick with v6 until your 110% sure your site is compatible with v7.

 

always remember that upgrading WHMCS nearly always means running the risk that a feature that worked perfectly well in the previous version, might be bugged in the new version... so always thin carefully before upgrading and plan & test wisely.
