copying clients to another install

I haven't seen it in a while but I believe WHMCS have a import script that allows you to merge the data from 2 WHMCS installs as long as both are running the same version. You may need to contact WHMCS to see if they still offer this script.

i'm not sure they have a working one publicly available for v6.

That's a shame, I knew it was a while ago I saw the script.

@snake - how much data do you need to copy across? You mention some if it's something you could do in a few hours manually I'd recommend it. It's better to spend more time but know it's done properly.

thanks but I do not want to merge 2 whmcs installs, I just want to import a few clients.

FWIW, i'd go along with Zomex on this - do it manually and then you shouldn't have a problem.

if you had said 'all' and not 'some', I might have suggested doing an SQL export/import (remembering not to export the existing id values) - but even then, if it were me, i'd prefer the manual method.

Hi,

A new WHMCSAssist tool is in the works which will import data from external systems into a WHMCS v6.3 installation. However we do not have a tool which can import only specific data such as certain clients, so as others have mentioned that would be best handled manually: http://docs.whmcs.com/Importing_Data#Manual_Client_Entry

If you'd like to generate back-dated invoices once a client is added, instructions for doing so are at http://docs.whmcs.com/How_To_Guides#Regenerate_Historical_Invoices
