What happened to the forums? EEK!

Yikes, just yikes.

The forum header really should return here. I get that change is different, and honestly, the theme isn't terrible, but there's no way to (easily) do anything that was at that top menu at this point! The most important (to me, of course), being 'find new posts'. It's just not easily done

We hope you like the new look!

Absolutely. much 'fresher' than the old one. Aside from the all intrusive ads (which really have no place in a business forum), aesthetically, it looks good!

Apart from the new posts link, what other links are you missing?

New posts, mark read, forum home...the usual suspects while reading a forum. That would be helpful.

^^ this ^^

Basically anything I'd expect to see in 'quick links' dropdown. Today's posts, mark read, forum home (though that's replaced by the breadcrumb link I guess), 'new posts', my posts, subscribed threads. Some of this was moved elsewhere, but it really should be accessible as it was.

Another oddity, this thread didn't show up in "new posts" (copy/pasted into address bar), though the post before this one took place since my last visit.

Looking at the page code, all the requested links are in there, they're just <not> showing on the page(s).

There is also an insecure content warning, looks like a single script near the top of the page being called via http (unrelated to the missing menu).

Thanks for the feedback both of you. I've shared this with our website team to look into.

We're still working on refining the placement and frequency of the banners. They aren't intended to be showing up quite as much as they are currently.

I don't know if it's just a Firefox 47 issue, or a js problem in general, but if you open one of the dropdowns (e.g Community), and then scroll to the right, the other dropdowns open automatically too on mouseover... :?:

It's always done that for me, on most forums.

Thanks for putting the navigation back, that's very helpful, but something not quite right though. Hit mark read, and get an error about a missing security token.

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

I'm told the issues you were experiencing should now be resolved and the links have been restored.

thanks - dropdown menu issues seems to have been resolved.

If you run into any other issues, please do let us know.

out of curiosity, what's the purpose of the Calendar ? the only purpose it seems to serve would be to show members birthdays... and sometimes their ages! :)

also, looks like the date range hasn't been updated since 2010!

Not everyone can even view it.

bear, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons
Looking much, much better guys, thanks!! :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I just spotted one other thing that's missing from these updated forums - the Google Translate dropdown in the footer.

it's not a big issue - I rarely answer non-English questions and can copy&paste into Google if necessary - so i'm just mentioning it in passing!

there also seems to be a couple of issues with previewing a post too.

when you click "Go Advanced" and you then click the "Preview Post" button, it sometimes (perhaps with long posts?) shows a google recaptcha button (which I think is caused by cloudflare) - after the recaptcha test is passed, the post is previewed - but the "Your Message" box is empty... so effectively, you can no longer edit the post!

luckily, I have the Lazarus firefox addon, so I can recover the post - but it's going to be a pain for those that don't.

I think it may only occur with long posts as it's not happening when previewing this post, but certainly was when I was writing the post below...

http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?115658-currency-selector-on-header-tpl&p=467638#post467638

I also had a real pain time to edit a post in that thread last night to remove one line - kept on say the message had to be longer than 10 characters, but I was editing a long post, not replying.... in the end, I had to login using Chrome to remove the line from the post.
