email pipe forwarding for tickets gets broken after each whmcs upgrade

Each time we perform a whmcs upgrade, our email pipe forwarding for support tickets stops working.

 

We have to delete the forwarding rule in cpanel, recreate the pipe forwarding rule, then it works again.

 

Anyone else experience this? Is there a way to prevent it from happening?

 

Obviously, we'll try to remember to just fix it right away next time. But we usually forget and don't know about it until a customer calls and reports it.

Similar issue for me on upgrade to full new version (5.27) permissions on pipe.php were not set correctly - missed a day of emails until a client alerted me to "bounce backs"...

 

Although documentation does exist for setting permissions on that file for a new installation - I didn't think to check it as I was "upgrading".... Perhaps it would be a good idea for the team to include a "check file permissions" reminder in upgrade text.
