DavidBee
Found this video on TheWHIR that was posted a few hours ago and that I would share with everyone. http://www.thewhir.com/whir-tv/video-hosting-control-panel-cpanel-and-billing-software-whmcs-discuss-investment-partnership-integration
Bubka3
Tbh, Matt looks akward in that video. Like he was forced into the partnership.
openmind
Tbh, Matt looks akward in that video. Like he was forced into the partnership. What utter rubbish. I'd feel awkward if someone stuffed a video camera in my face...
Brian Murphy
How much more understandable is Matt! I could barely understand Aaron. Adding a few pauses would have kept me engaged. You can tell the interview was chopped up - would be interesting to see the full interview. I guess cPanel + WHMCS will soon resemble Plesk's functionality and what it has been able to do for several years now? Plesk Billing! I am really looking forward to greater Accounting functionality with the continued development of WHMCS. I believe much will change over the coming 18 months! So will it now be called "WHMCScP", "cPWHMCS" or "WHMCcPS" (WHM Complete cPanel Solution)?
Si
Interested (at last) to hear that other control panels will not be dumped. Our core business is 95% other panels and 5% cPanel. The announcement did lead us to panic a little over the direction of WHMCS and so it's good to hear now (weeks later) that other panels will still be supported. (Although time will tell as to what development will take place to support those on an equal footing to cPanel). I expect the dominant development time will now be given to cPanel. Also interesting to hear Aaron say that they (cpanel) will talk to their customers while Matt will talk to his (us). Forgive me if I'm wrong but it's almost 7 weeks since we heard anything on this from Matt (the official announcement on the forum), which left a lot of unanswered questions and uneasiness (as can be seen on the forums) especially after the recent hacking and the 5.1.2 release issues. An official update from WHMCS to address us (this does involve the livelihoods of families - including young children), and so WHMCS (I hope) knows this and understands the concern. It's a product I love, and which has been core to the success of our business - I'm just feeling a little vulnerable Matt that after nurturing this business for many years and through long hours, that decisions being made elsewhere could affect us. (I'm sure that goes for many on these forums). P.S. (Thanks HostSurfUK for linking to this video).
tickedon
Tbh, Matt looks akward in that video. Like he was forced into the partnership. Forced? The most recent WHMCS accounts show WHMCS made a profit of over $1,000,000 last year. That kind of money can solve most things, so I'm pretty certain Matt wanted to go for the partnership.
easyhosting
Interested (at last) to hear that other control panels will not be dumped. Anyone could have told you that other panels would not be dumped, many businesses across the world by shares/stakes in other businesses without major changes.
Si
Anyone could have told you that other panels would not be dumped, many businesses across the world by shares/stakes in other businesses without major changes. Right, so that's why they bothered to address it in the video. Someone like you should have told the editor of the video there was no need to put that in. Easy, can I ask you, why do you have to put your patronising spoke in everywhere? Seriously man - why do you feel the need to come on with the knowledge of hindsight to say this when you never bothered to share this superior knowledge/insight you have about this in other threads when others muted their similar concerns? For every buyout you can quote (and I doubt it's many to back up your point), I can quote others where precisely my fear was achieved. They are called 'exclusivity deals' and all I wanted to hear from WHMCS and/or cPanel that this was not he case in this instance. I'm baffled how you knew beforehand this information. Ie, you didnt. Please stop adding your irrelevant posts to threads - think a little before you post - please. You are everywhere.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 30, 2012 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 30, 2012 Hi, Whilst admittedly not an announcement, Matt did already address the fact that non-cPanel control panels would remain an important focus for WHMCS in a few places including http://blog.whmcs.com/?t=51686 and http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?51690
easyhosting
Right, so that's why they bothered to address it in the video. simple to re clarify the fact to people like you that other panels would still be supported, even though as John states Matt has already stated this several times. I'm baffled how you knew beforehand this information. Ie, you didnt. i was aware of this before this thread as i read the WHMCS blog etc. where Matt informed everyone of this. Si
Thanks for the direction to the posts and clarification John Easy, please make a note to not comment on anything I post in future. You are not helpful, and have a patronising tone that just riles people. You always speak with hindsight (as now again). After John, you post that you knew about the links he posted, but you didn't refer to them in your first post, - rather you claimed ANYONE could have known this information, not because of clarification on other posts, but because "many businesses across the world buy shares/stakes in other major changes". That was the foundation of your post and was nonsense. Let it go easy.

If you dont know this is a PUBLIC forum where anyone can give free advice and comments. if youy dont like others commenting on what you write then dont come on the forum and post. i was right and did not need to post any links. if you read through the threads on this matter and the blog you yourself would have seen them rather than post without getting your facts right.
