Google shutting down Google Checkout on Nov 20, 2013
ninak replied to neobug103's topic in General Discussion
Today I spoke with Alice at Google (1 855 WALLET6) check your account and make sure that under Product type you have Internet etc. clicked and not just services if, you are engaged in web hosting and domain name registration. In order to continue using Google as your payment processor, may I suggest that you sign up for Google Wallet for Digital Goods. Sellers of digital goods on Google (Google Play, Chrome Web Store, Offers Marketplace and Google Wallet for digital goods) will automatically transition to Google Wallet and so will not be affected by the closure of Google Checkout. Please follow the steps below on how to sign up : Visit the Google Wallet for Business homepage. Click on Get started. Select Digital goods. Complete the Signup Wizard. If you need to verify that your account will be transferred call the number above (press 5 after initial call) Now that the confusion is gone I can put google back on the web. -
Google shutting down Google Checkout on Nov 20, 2013
ninak replied to neobug103's topic in General Discussion
That was one of the reasons that I first called google. They put a ticket in to google merchant wallet as they do not take phone calls. The girl Lana responded from there and said it would be only for digital goods. Told her I provide hosting service her answer was that hosting service is not a digital good. Asked to get in touch with someone higher. she sent back link to google support went to link but no place to email or fill out a support ticket. Just a bunch of things to click on for canned responses. -

I have been going back and forth with google support for the past 24 hours. The new google merchant wallet can not be used for hosting according to the support center. I have always thought that hosting was a digital service, but not accourding to google. -
Believe it or not the easiest solution is not to have the SSL as an add on. Have it as a separate product. This way they are billed for the year (just like domain registration). The dedicated IP would be an add on to the hosting and it would be billed the same time period as the hosting.

I guess you have to live in the hurricane belt to know the fun of no electricity. -
should we have a national 'No Computer Day'

If it's just for 24 hours there is no problem with the freezer also. Have a large cooler (keep one here for hurrcaine season) A fridge too stays cool for many hours if you fill vegetable bins with ice cubes or dry ice. You also don't need gas, use a barbeque grill or out in your yard make a ring fire and place a grate on top to place pots for cooking ( use also for cooking marshmellows). For light in the evening (not to good for prolonged reading) use candles or lanterns. (Few years ago had a whole week like this due to hurricane) Can be fun if you want it to be. -
should we have a national 'No Computer Day'
ninak replied to easyhosting's topic in General Discussion
There is a TV show that showed all the computers went out. One major outcome was no electricity. It's a very entertaining show to watch and makes you think. This poll has made me feel good. I needed a good laugh and this made my day. Keep up the enjoyment factor. Too many forums have become doomsday predictors or are just too boring. Have a great day everyone... -
I don"t know if this will help anybody but you can give it a try. Ever since the upgrade to 5.1 we had constant problems. When the new patch 5.1.5 came into being it did not help very much. (we did backup everything before and did an export on our database both as .csv and .sql) What we did notice is that it seemed to duplicate every single email template. So what I did was to totally remove all tables in the database, removed all files in the whmcs folder except the config file. Uploaded the new 5.2.2, imported the .csv files of my database and now stuff that had not worked for while is all well and good. It may help because as time goes by all these patches do create additional files that conflict with others.

I must be one of the lucky ones. Upgraded to 5.2.2 two days ago and all the problems I had before are now gone.

We use Netearthone. The service is great.

Capcha do not discourage human spammers. There is a place in the administration panel settings to stop registration unless a purchase is made. (Setup/Other the fifth item down, make sure this is unchecked)

Promotions code for quarterly (minimum) payments
ninak replied to hostgate's topic in General Discussion
Go to setup/payments/promotions/ new Give the promotion the name you want. enter the percentage or the amount. (if you want to give domain for free enter 100%) In the Applies to section highlight the tld's that you want to give and not the hosting packages. In the Requires section, choose the packages. On the next line you will check off the billing cycle that you want for the hosting The line after that is for how many years on the domain. Then you will enter when this promotion starts and ends/ There a few more questions that your should answer. -

You do not need a promotion code for this. It can be done automatically. Go to your administrator control panel in WHMCS. Go to Setups In setups go to Products/services Go to the product you wish to use for this. Click on the edit image. You will see a set of links. (Details/Pricing/module settings/etc.) Choose Free Domain. Under this there are three sections. In the first section you would choose either none, one time only etc. Then in the second section is where you choose which payment terms to apply this free domain. In the third section you would choose which tld they can use for this free domain. -
Yes these work very well and they do work for WHMCS but the warning is still there for people who use these these terms in other parts of there web. I did state that they tried to use these and not that they were successful. There is also a large amount of people searching using the words powered by. So we all have to be very careful.

For the past three days we have had attempts from two IP's to enter our system. They have attempted to enter admin whmcs/admin manager Thank goodness that we don't use those file names. If any body wants to see those IP's I will post them. I have now created a shtml page that these are redirected to and have indicated that they will be reported.

Does anyone know if and how to set up some packages that have an initial 2 month start for billing. I mean when the person signs up your initial bill would be for two months and then every month thereafter.

What is considered an "OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT". Thinking back, I so not recall any "OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS" when EIG took over other companies. I am not saying there never was, just that I have never seen one. As previously stated, companies are always changing hands and no announcements are made. Deals are made behind closed doors and the outcome is not visible till much later. This morning I did try the chat system at Hostgator and am still waiting for someone to respond. Not very typical of Hostgator.

If you have subscription service activated on your PayPal account the client can sign up for it and the money will be automatically taken from their account every billing period that they have initially signed up for.

I don't see why he can't get initial help here. The product was made specifically for WHMCS. I do believe that if you take a look at cPanel forum they do help with installation and trouble shooting of products that were made to be used with cPanel. Of course there are somethings that do need to be answered in a ticket with the 3rd party provider, but for a start you should be able to ask for help here if it is specific to being used in WHMCS.

Problem Resending welcome email for products and members panel.
ninak replied to ninak's topic in Using WHMCS
I have already done that. Have even even uploaded new files. Now there is also an issue in IE when trying to log in. Works fine in FF. In IE clients trying to log into their account automatically getting message that they are being banned for x amount of minutes for wrong username and password attempts. Get the same message for my admin area. This only happens in IE for some strange reason.
