Oh please, please, please.....

I got tied up in some other work and wasn't able to download the RC. Oh please, please, please Mr. Matt.... throw me a bone..... I've been a good boy, a loyal supporter since 2005.

Is there actually a projected or fixed date

Hopefully not.

or is it a 'when its done its done' situation?

Hopefully yes.

Nothing worse than software that's rushed just to meet a deadline, rather than being actually ready for release....

He won't I asked... but I'm sure v4 will be out of beta soon anyway now...

There was no public beta. An RC is not a beta, but a Release Candidate. Thus we should be extremely close to a stable version unless the RC's were riddled with bugs, which they shouldnt be since they were RC's.

I wouldn't say riddled, but judging by forum posts, there have been a few bugs. Of course, if this were a different software package, 4.0 would have been released a month ago, and 4.0.6 would be getting released tomorrow. And with that thought, I find it easy to be patient. :)

Why are you so in a rush for v4??

Would you rather Matt release a buggy product that causes all types of issues? Let's get serious here. This is a billing software and billing software is the front line of the business which needs to be handled and developed almost flawlessly. I rather wait until Matt is 110% certain the product is ready. I don't need to be installing it than finding out it over-bills or this and that screws customers accounts. If you want products that are released without vigorous testing than try Modernbill, Trust me it's no fun. Hold on to your pants, it will come soon. Besides, is v3 not holding it's weight or something?

The same problems faced Helm when they release v4 before it was anywhere near ready two years ago, in fact it is still now riddled with bugs.

WHA released a buggy and unstable product mainly down to the pressure that users put them under, they caved in and the whole thing went tits up.

I couldn't care less if WHMCS v4 takes one week, month or year to be released as long as it is 100% stable.

Some of you guys are wound a bit too tight and are a bit to eager to jump.... 8)

What do you mean by that!!!

;)

Managed to sell mine just before they stopped allowing it. Terrible experience.

I'm in no hurry for v4, but from past experience, there are generally few bugs that make it to the release version, and they are usually fixed quite fast.

No complaints from me at all.

I tried MB first and just couldn't make it work.... and after their "upgrade" it was even worse. I accidentally discovered WHMCS while googling and I bought it back in 2005. ... :)

I've watched WHMCS grow from just Matt, phpBB forums, no mods and he was answering live chat himself. WHMCS has never lost it's individual service attitude. Matt and his crew make you feel important when you ask for help. Something that many have lost a long time ago.

Agreed, Matt and co exhibit a level of professionalism that is sorely lacking in the industry, with the exception of cPanel (another company with good support). I have asked many questions of Matt and always got concise and informative answers.

This kind of thread must be every software companys dream... Hungry customers eagerly awaiting a new version - not because the previous was buggy or bad, but simply because all of us are getting used to the high quality work from Matt and his team!

Yes, I do care if it takes a week or a year befora v4 comes out, as I do need the multicurrency feature and some of the other new features, in order for me to move all my billing onto WHMCS... But I still want a bug-free piece of software - so don't rush as long as you release it soon!
