Issue with support ticket assign to staff.

Hi everyone,

 

 

I have different department and staff.Staff with-in the department can only access department tickets.

If I assign a ticket to particular staff with-in the department, then staff will get ticket access.

but any staff assign a ticket to outside the department, then staff can't access ticket.

 

I want to automatically change department if any staff assign ticket to other staff in different department.

There's no 'easy' way to do this. by 'easy way', I mean secure.

 

By default, WHMCS doesn't allow staff to visit tickets outside of their assigned departments, and this is how it should be. If you want them to see a ticket, they should be assigned to the department that ticket is in. That's how the system is properly secured. So, your staff cannot see administrative tickets, your support staff cannot see sales tickets, yadda yadda yadda

 

That said, there is a way to do this , though, again, not secure

Go into setup-> staff management -> administrator roles -> role

tick 'Access All Tickets Directly'

click 'save'.

 

This will give your staff permission to view and access any ticket outside of their department at all.

Like I said, it's a pretty insecure way to do it, but that's the only way to get around this restriction if you really want them to access without giving them department access
