Garbled Security Questions and Answers after 6.1.1 upgrade.

Hi All,

Please see the below snap of my WHMCS environment. It seems that after the 6.1.1 upgrade, the security questions and answers are useless to me.

I have opened a ticket but I have not received a response since yesterday and this is a problem for me and my clients who are trying to reset their passwords.

I would appreciate any help I can get. How do I correct this?

Thanks

I do have a backup. but I checked my backup from may already and the tbladminsecurityquestions are still the same content. there is no difference. I don't want to restore my entire database for one small problem.

Surely this should be fixable.

who said "Entire"? :D

I was asking if you can restore the Security Questions and their answers from backup?

i've got a similar issue with my v6 dev site - though as it's only for development, i'm not too bothered about it.

however, I don't think my answers are corrupt - only the questions...

fixing the questions, assuming you can remember what they are, can be done by editing the question - but the corruption of the answers will be more tricky.

just comparing my v5.3.14 table with the v6.1.1, they are exactly the same (apart from the question I manually edited in v6.1.1) - so i'm not sure copying from one table to the other would help.

for some reason, the questions are fine in v5.3.14 - but are corrupt in v6.1.1 (I think for me they may have been since the early betas, but can't confirm that).

i'd suggest opening a ticket with support to see if they can assist with the issue - and if they provide you with a working solution, let us know!

It will work.

If they don't, I can assist you with it :)

Ok, I finally received a reply from whmcs support. They advised me to restore my $cc_encryption_hash value. I changed this at a stage as I suspected the system might have been compromised. I wasn't sure but did it anyway.

This resolved my issue.

My only concern now is that my old security hash might have been compromised. what now?
