How many emails and activity log do you keep in your database?

I have noticed that most of my database space is taken up by the activity log and the emails. I regularly delete old attachments (older than one month) but I have never done any other pruning.

 

I would like some opinions and advice on this.

 

How many emails and how much activity log do you keep in your database?

 

Ideally I would simply keep everything forever, but my database size is about 300 MB and it makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I tend to keep the emails longer than the logs. I just had to re-send 8 customers an email they were sent over a year ago and never acted on.

Yes, I also like having proof that customers were notified of certain things.
