FORUMADDON
barely any people have updated their software - so we are working on a remote update script. This should benefit all. If more people update then we will have more reason to create updates. This update script will automatically download the latest files and install them for you. Presuming you have made no changed to your templates (most people have made css changes) then it will be fine.
vince512
I like the look of this mod and may test it out next week, although $70.00 a year for a forum seems a bit too steep. Do you have any plans of having a lifetime license for this mod?
redrat
There surely are very attractive alternatives for sure. In perspective, there is an almost purist, kind of cutting edge movement amongst WHMCS users that attempts to integrate even making the coffee. Yet, forum wise, this mod isn't any where near cutting the mustard compared to the mainstream. From that point of view, $70 is larging it somewhat, especially since it's now gone all quiet and stuff. As forum addon has said, barely any people have updated their softwareso perhaps now that the hype has died down things are beginning to find their own level. It is always good when people innovate and this is certainly a great project in the making but is too immature, as yet, to have justified the present price. This is a hard pill to swallow since the work that has gone in to this is massive. At the end of the day, people don't care how much work has gone into it. If it is not sexy enough at the right price they will not buy it. This mod is atrophying in the margins of current interest.. A very brave attempt, but some way to go yet. IMHO. Bless, Chris

HostXNow
Anyone know of Open Source Forum Software that has WHMCS User Login Integration included for Free? Cheers
redrat
I have never come across any such thing and it would be very widely known and used if it did exist.
HostXNow
It wouldn't be such a problem if WHMCS didn't use that MD5 Hash with salt non-sense. Read many threads on free open source forum communities which pretty much end up with "If WHMCS didn't use the MD5 Hash with salt encryption it would be so much easier to do" lol.
VicToMeyeZR
yup dead. This guy just as I suspected from the beginning, created the basic, then left. Not a WORD from him Since August. Pathetic. *DO NOT BUY THIS MOD*

Blueberry3.14
yup dead. This guy just as I suspected from the beginning, created the basic, then left. Not a WORD from him Since August. Pathetic. *DO NOT BUY THIS MOD* On one hand, sometimes things happen in development of a product (or in the life of a developer) that cause serious glitches in the product. It would have been nice if he made the product open source in order for someone else to continue the development, if he's unable to as it appears. However...I have always thought the pricing at $50/yr was WAY outta whack. On the pricing aspect alone, I'd agree with your sentiment to recommend against buying this mod.

Stream101
But is it the right thing to do, or am I just being a baby about it?
XN-Matt
But is it the right thing to do, or am I just being a baby about it? You do know that PayPal does NOT cover goods like software delivered over the internet, right? Matt
Blueberry3.14
But is it the right thing to do, or am I just being a baby about it? Are you unhappy with the product? Does it perform the way it is intended? And have you contacted the developer (or attempted to) about any issues?

VicToMeyeZR
well he does respond. He said the reason he is not updating it, is because some customer are not updating to the latest versions he released in August? WTH kind of crap is that? What an idiot

If it's not working as it should, and you've made a best effort to work it out with him, I'd file a complain with PayPal. Though software doesn't fall under their "guarantee", they'll send an email to the developer. Usually that's enough to get action. I've done it before with software that wasn't as specified (dramatically so, and no free trial), and got a refund. That was only after numerous documented attempts to contact the developer.
VicToMeyeZR
yeah, now paypal will automatically close your dispute as soon as you escalate it on virtual goods.. SO it won' matter. You can't even dispute them anyways.

easyhosting
yeah, now paypal will automatically close your dispute as soon as you escalate it on virtual goods.. SO it won' matter. You can't even dispute them anyways. true but if you keep on at paypal and keep pointing out the law on the sale of goods not fit for purpose even if they are virtual and the fact thqat paypal are allowing these to be sold through their system, they will normally relent and refund you from their funds but not that of the seller, so they still allow the seller to continue
FORUMADDON
I'm sorry you are unhappy with the product but it is exactly as advertised on http://whmcsbb.com. I realise that there are some features/bugs that require fixing and I admit they should have been fixed a while ago but as stated elsewhere there were more important matters outside of WHMCSBB that required my attention. I do apologise for this and will get an update to you, mknjhill, as soon as it is ready.
