Sorry for being picky - but isn't 'revolutionary' just a tad overkill? I know you are making good products and want to sell them, but I'm looking for a 'game changer' and more than what I've seen elsewhere, when I see that kind of description - and when I don't see it, it leaves me feeling misled and being 'sold' to.

 

Admire your work and what you do, but just thought I would throw that out there for ya! peace!

I understand where you're coming from and I respect your opinion. Of course it is a word being used in a sales way but then this part of the forum is designed for adverts.

 

I'm very confident about the quality of my products, I've been developing and providing WHMCS templates for over 5 years which is longer than 99% of the competition. Maybe evolutionary would be a better word seeing as they have significantly evolved each year. There is no comparison between the first version and now.

Hmm, I'm from the UK and we go by the name Christmas. XMAS I believe comes from America.

 

It's strange that the word XMAS would offend you, I used XMAS for the coupon as it's the more catchy word and my webistes are all international.

 

Did some research and I'm assuming it offends you as you're a Christian and don't like the word Christ removed from the name?

He is not an X.

Oh dear that is a big error on my part. I apologise for that, that was purely an assumption without ever feeling the need to research the word. I've seen it used mostly outside of the UK so like the word Santa I wrongly assumed it was similar. I now understand how the word XMAS is offensive to you and others.

 

In the UK we also refer to Santa as "Father Christmas" so even the word Santa is not one I commonly see.

 

The coupon will be expiring in under 12 hours so next year I'll be sure to reference Christmas instead.

 

I am an atheist myself, seeing as you stated your religious beliefs it's only fair that I'm clear about mine. This in no way is related to using the word XMAS, I used it as I did not know what you've told me and that the word is shorter. I went to a catholic school and to me Christmas is and always will be the day to mark the birth of Jesus Christ regardless of my personal beliefs.

 

PS: WHMCS has contacted me about bumping 1 thread only, seeing as this is a old post I've taken the option to close this and my other 2 threads in favour of creating and bumping 1 new and up to date thread which I will maintain solely. If you wish to respond to my above message and this thread is closed feel free to send me a private message. Feel free to close the thread after this info pro, you usually do. You may have some idea of computers but no idea of theology and that is my field.

 

That article would be great if it were true and were generally meant by people who use X, but they don't. That article will be news to many. For most, (including yourself), an article like this is typical of using something to excuse the use of XMAS.

 

Some people like using the past to slam Christians. Now, in this case, the past is used to defend a modern day heathen practice. The theology behind that is called dispensationalism and right now the point is:

 

It offends people when XMAS is used rather than Christmas in ENGLISH. If you are going to spend your time info pro in educating people because you feel passionately about the use of the X - feel free to do so. Make sure you know exactly what you are talking about and the discussion you want to get into.

 

Now have a Happy Christmas one and all. (We'll see how long this post stays - while info pro gets trigger happy again). (He is the reason I don't use the forums like I used to). Go figure.
