Hi everyone:

It is very clear that every time registrars provide promotion for only registering domains not renew or transfer.

There is no option to limit promotions for only register .

Is there any solution to resolve this issue?!

registrar promotions also tend to only discount the first year of a new registration, so additional years (along with transfers and renewals) are charged at full price.

 

the easiest solution would just be to modify the price of the tld - either just the promotion 1-year registration cost, or by adjusting all available yearly prices.

 

ideally, it might be useful if it were possible to specify a time period for the promo price to be active and then have it return automatically to full price at the end, but that option is not available.

 

therefore, you'd have to make a note of when the promo period ends and re-adjust your tld prices accordingly.

Changing price while registrar announce , isn't accurate job because you may forgot changing this price to normal price,more over when you decrease domain price it will affect on next due date price .Doesn't it?!

no, pricing for new registrations and existing renewals are independent of each other - e.g., if you change the price of a .com registration to $100, it doesn't automatically adjust recurring amount (renewal price) on existing .com renewals... that recurring price would have been set at the time of registration (or modified at any time afterwards).

 

if you wanted to change that recurring price on existing domains in your whmcs, you could either adjust them manually by modifying the value in the client's domain page, or by using the Bulk Pricing Update addon.

the utility used to be bugged and I don't know if it's been fixed yet - but I assume you don't want to adjust pricing for existing renewals anyway, so that's not important!

 

you could always use the "To Do" feature of WHMCS to remind yourself to reset prices on a particular date.

Hi,

This is how I'd do it; as the promos most registrars offer (particular ResellerClub) the discount only applies for the first year anyway.

Provided you keep the renewal price at the regular price, that's how much the client will be charged at renewal time.
