  • WHMCS Support Manager

Hi,

Tick the "Enable" checkbox under Setup > General Settings > Affiliates tab.

Clients can then join your affiliate program on the /affiliates.php page. Once joined, they'll see their unique affiliate link on that same page.

If you wish to provide affiliates with banners and link code from them to copy/paste onto their websites, you can enter it into the Setup > General Settings > Affiliates tab > Affiliate Links text box.

There's an example in our documentation: http://docs.whmcs.com/Affiliates#Affiliate_Linking_Code

Do affiliates have to buy a product before becoming affiliates? I'm not sure I understand that part thoroughly enough. When I visit the affiliates.php page, there is a login form, but no way to sign up. The only way to "sign up" is to become a client? So the only affiliates are current customers?

The only workaround I can think of is to have a separate form in our website and then manually create the affiliate account in whmcs once we've received their submission? Is this really it?

technically, no - but it depends on the WHMCS site and how its configured.

yes - to be an affiliate, you have to be an existing client...

depending on how you have your WHMCS configured, there are two ways to become a client - you buy something, or you register via register.php (most templates will show a register link in the header).

so for those sites that have direct registrations disabled (which you can do in general settings->other), users of those sites will have to buy something to become a client... and then once logged in as a client, they can enable themselves as affiliates.

if you have register.php enabled, then users can just register as clients with no required purchase... and again, once they log in, they can enable their affiliate status.
