[UNCONFIRMED] Credit Card Payments not automatically processing on NEW/RENEWAL Orders

I've upgraded to 5.0.4 to patch the recent security issue, including the new new patch released on March 13th. On March 22nd, all orders placed via the shopping cart, remain as incomplete payment status. There is no gateway log issue. The credit card is never being run. Users are being logged out once they submit orders.

I have to manually go to the invoices, click attempt capture and then process the order.

Other's have been reporting this. I don't know why it started a week after we patched our install, but we need to get this fixed as manually running cards is not feasible.

http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?69430-Security-patch/page6 has some additional details.

Please provide some update here.

Seeing the same thing here on 5.0.4.

It seems that since the 5.0.4 patch, when the client is placing an order and selecting "Credit Card" as the payment method, rather than processing the payment the client is simply redirected back to the login page (nothing is shown in the gateway log either). If the new client logs in and pays with credit card from the 'view invoice' page, or contacts us to have us attempt the capture from the admin side, the payment goes through fine and the account gets set up.

We are using the PayPal Website Payments Pro module, if that makes any difference. Switching back to the 5.0.3 creditcard.php resolves the issue instantly.. but how safe is this?

@msaunders Nope, we've had a ticket open for 5 days with 1 response so far.

@WHMCS I noticed you've now tagged this thread as UNCONFIRMED. If you would like to confirm it, by all means, feel free to place an order on our website and select 'Credit Card'. Or, is the following enough for you to confirm it and actually look at your patch files (some people have also given you access to their system's to look and confirm this).

I just cant get anywhere with WHMCS support, I wasted over 12 days for a response, to receive this:

Hi,

My apologies for the delayed reply on this ticket, I've been discussing this with the developers and we've been monitoring the situation, but no other users have reported a similar problem to us, so we don't believe this is specifically a code issue at this time.

I see you have a dev licence, is your dev installation experiencing the same problem?

To move forward from here, we think it would be best if you were to upgrade to the latest 5.2.3 release and should the issue persists, our developers can get stuck into the source code and debug further.

If we can be of any more assistance, please don't hesitate to get back in contact.

Noone else reported the issue? We had a ticket open for about a week, got nowhere. Ended up with the same response "Upgrade to 5.2.3".

That response wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't their security fix that caused the issue. They essentially pushed out a broken patch and then refused to fix it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Note: same issue exists in 5.2.3, no sense upgrading.

Anyone have any luck resolving it? New clients cannot signup, and no one can update credit card details on our end -- luckily existing cards are still able to be processed. ~3 days without a response from WHMCS thusfar.

Still a problem - renewal invoices are not being created and payments for outstanding invoices are not being processed ever since I upgraded to 5.2.X - this is seriously a problem - I have upgraded to 5.2.4 with no positive results - I can see the cron job executes every day but no "WHMCS Cron Job Activity" emails are being generated since those upgrades. I wasn't paying attention to this for 3 weeks until I noticed my revenue dropped off by 60% - what a shock!!!

HI

I found invoices do generate, i have to run the WHMCS cron as root as we have allot of things happening that when i run it via cpanel it must timeout.

The issue i have is it only attempts to charge invoices due today, if one declined yesterday it won't retry today, similar to results as it i had "do not retry payments" which I don't have selected.

I recorded a video with evidence and sent a ticket in about 4-5 weeks ago but its not yet had a response to it.

Hello,

What payment gateways are you using?

Have you enabled SQL & Display errors - if so, what errors are you receiving?

Also, is there a reason you've not updated to the latest version as 5.0.x reaches end of life in July:

http://docs.whmcs.com/Long_Term_Support#WHMCS_Version_.26_LTS_Schedule

- This is not by any means a statement of "Upgrade to resolve your issue", just a question to answer my curiosity.

We are running the latest version - 5.2.4

Enabling SQL & Display errors isnt going to help as it is when the cron runs - the cron completes, but only trys to charge the invoices that are due that day - it does not attempt to charge previous days invoices.

there is another thread on this at http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?72407-v5-2-4-Daily-Cron-Only-Running-New-Invoices

Enabling sql can help if there is an SQL error it will display in the activity log.

You can also use the module debugger, i forget whether its an install or was already there but eitherway, its useful. so look in the addons if its not already installed.

There are no errors - the cron completes with no errors but it only bills todays credit card invoices - it does not bill previous declined credit card invoices.
