hanguyen
Hello, If you read this thread, please spend 1 minute to answer my simple questions. I very need your answers 1. The latest version of WHMCS 5.1.2 has tons of bugs BUT why there is no bug fixes for it for over 3 months? or these bugs are not critical to you? i think these bugs are affecting thousands of companies. So you guys are still fine with your business and have solutions for it already? I don't see many complaints on this forum. I ever thought i would see thousands of complains here 2. In a near future, WHMCS will work with Cpanel, right ? In my eyes, whmcs is good at their products and prices BUT cpanel is very expensive. why WHMCS should work with such expensive company? I don't want to see their combination. This will force us to suffer a penalty on their price. How is your thoughts ?
othellotech
2. In a near future, WHMCS will work with Cpanel, right ? The WHMCS product has worked with Cpanel for years. BUT cpanel is very expensive You need to differentiate between price and value - they are *VERY* different things.
easyhosting
cpanel is very expensive. cPanel VPS licence $15 a month cPanel Ded Licence $38 a month do you call this expensive? i dont
CavalloComm
OK forget about the expensive part - I never got answers to my questions that I felt WHMCS will ditch support for Plesk - which we absolutely need. I also see NOTHING - NO UPDATES, NOTHING since July of this year - not even a peep, except for a security issue yesterday.. Not even a word on what is coming soon.. again NOTHING. So - to be honest, perhaps they are "integrating" this with CPANEL, and selling it off.. and then be done with the software.. Since no one is telling us anything, what else can we imagine? Such a disappointment that now, they came out with 5.1, my yearly protection expires very shortly, with no updates and still cannot upgrade to it.. Last ticket I opened I was told to go pound sand basically on why Plesk didn't update usage stats anymore after version 9 - which is not even supported by Parallels anymore. Where do we complain and get an answer??? All I would like to know is the future.. should I go find another company or not?
hanguyen
cPanel VPS licence $15 a monthcPanel Ded Licence $38 a month do you call this expensive? i dont May be its not expensive if you have many shared customers on a server BUT its too expensive for a single customer just wants to host 1 or several sites. And If you're selling low end servers at $50 or $60 per month. Then you will understand what i meant. The price for a server is nearly equal to the price of the Cpanel. Thats looks very unfair. If you don't have a big company then you dont benefit anything from selling cpanel licences.

Plesk is even worse, they're more expensive than Cpanel and the support is very bad. But if you're a hosting provider, you simply cant ignore them. Customers always ask for plesk and cpanel. Thats the problem. And thats why i dont want to see whmcs combines with them.
easyhosting
May be its not expensive if you have many shared customers on a server BUT its too expensive for a single customer just wants to host 1 or several sites. If this is the case then it is uneconomical to have a VPS or dedicated server, just get a reseller which will have cpanel. If you're selling low end servers at $50 or $60 per month. Then you will understand what i meant. The price for a server is nearly equal to the price of the Cpanel. Thats looks very unfair. just add cPanel as an addon, so its up to the client if they get cPanel from you or elsewhere. If you don't have a big company then you dont benefit anything from selling cpanel licences. many server providers dont sell/offer cpanel, theres nothing to say you have to offer cpanel etc.

bear
Can you please answer my first question ? I'll try. 1. I ever thought i would see thousands of complains here We don't typically update as soon as a new release comes out, with the exception of security updates. Historically speaking (and this goes for all software, not just WHMCS), a new release of something will show whatever bugs didn't get found during pre-release testing. Adopting early generally means you will find some of those bugs. Why no bug fixes? <guessing and conjecture> I can only assume it's related to the Cpanel merger. Odds are they are reviewing the setup and possibly the code, and working to make it even better. It may well be that the next release you see will be a full point release rather than bug fixes. To me that explains the missing patches/fixes/comments from WHMCS, based on the timing. I could be completely wrong, but that's the way I see it. </guessing and conjecture> I'm willing to wait, since the versions I have running are still working and are, to the best of my knowledge, safe from harm.

I ever thought i would see thousands of complains here Not too many bugs now if any as most have been fixed and patches provided. the problem was that support was slow and support tickets went unanswered for weeks, but WHMCS are now ontop of this. 2. WHMCS has always worked with cPanel and other control panels, but recently cPanel partnered with WHMCS. information etc. found at the below links http://blog.whmcs.com/?t=51686 http://www.whmcs.com/about/cpanel-partnership-qa/
stormy
So - to be honest, perhaps they are "integrating" this with CPANEL, and selling it off.. and then be done with the software.. It starting to look more and more like that's what's happening. We'll just have to wait and see.
