Nominet Changes and WHMCS

Has anyone else had this email from Nominet?

Following on from our announcement in June that we will be removing the early Nominet EPP schemas in November, we are now preparing for this change and ran a check at the end of last month to see who was still using these schemas. We found that you were still using Nominet EPP schema v1.0 with your **removed** tag.

We would like to encourage you to move to the Standard EPP schemas that we support so that you can continue to register and manage .uk domain names using EPP from 1 November 2012 onwards. Should you need any assistance or advice about the best way to move to the Standard EPP schemas please contact our customer services team on 01865 332233 or by email to support@nominet.org.uk.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I've submitted a ticket to WHMCS but I'm quite concerned that if nothing is done before November we will have a major problem!

Well I've checked with support and they have said the latest version is updated along with all the other patches that have been released for it.

On a side note my support ticket was answered in 14 minutes, one in the eye for the whingers saying their support is slow ;)

I just raised this with WHMCS support and Carl confirmed:

I can confirm that the current Nominet module in the latest WHMCS release uses the V2.2 schema of the Nominet API and so there shouldn't be any problem with them discontinuing V1.0 as far as your WHMCS is concerned providing you upgrade to the latest release.

So the solution is to upgrade to 5.1.2

Hope this helps.

Looks like they are going to discontinue v2.2 as well -does whmcs support Standard EPP schemas ??

As outlined in August, we will be removing the remaining Nominet EPP schemas in June 2013 (versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2).

We ran an audit recently to see who was still using these schemas and found that you are using Nominet EPP schema v2.2 with your NETC tag. This schema will only be available for another three months and we would therefore encourage you to look into the transition to Standard EPP schemas as soon as possible. Once the Nominet EPP schemas are removed you will only be able to use the Standard EPP schemas to register and maintain .uk domain names. The Standard schemas can be found here

Hi Chris,

The ticket I had back last night said no changes to Nominet module have been done and that an update will be out before the deadline.

We have spoken to Nominet as members ourselves to see if there could be any grace period because of WHMCS issues, but they are having none of it :(

Hi,

Any news on this ?

Nominet sent this email today..

Hi,

We will soon be removing the remaining Nominet EPP schemas.

We ran an audit recently to see who was still using these schemas and found that you are using Nominet EPP schema Nom 2.2 with your tag. This schema will only be available for another few weeks and we would therefore encourage you to look into the transition to the Standard EPP schemas as soon as possible. Once the Nominet EPP schemas are removed you will only be able to use the Standard EPP schemas to register and maintain .uk domain names. You have until 9 July 2013 to complete your transition. The Standard schemas can be found here

http://registrars.nominet.org.uk/registration-and-domain-management/schemas-and-namespace-uris

Should you need any assistance or advice about this please contact our customer services team on 01865 332233 or by email support@nominet.org.uk<mailto:support@nominet.org.uk>.

Thank you.

Yes, some official response from WHMCS would be nice as we are all starting to get a little nervous, we too just received the email from Nominet "You have until 9 July 2013 to complete your transition".

Will we have an updated Nominet module by this date?

This is a bit too close for comfort. Let's hope it just works - it's taken months to get WHMCS working stable - and I'm hoping to go off on holiday (as a one man band) the latest fiascos have been disastrous and here we are on the one chance we get to have a break and a major issue is looming. Come on WHMCS......something ???? anything ????
