Thank you for the ideas! Tried with redirection by setting redirect on server level with two URLs (in cpanel from/to), did not work. Tried with redirection on file level, but it seems not to take from a file replacing the downloads.php Not sure how to do the sym link, and never tried a custom page in whmcs: would appreciate any pointers. Is there a way to replace the link/URL that is at the menu item "Downloads"? (Also never done that in whmcs.) Thank you!
-
Sorry, is there nobody that has any ideas on this or is it posted in the wrong community/category?
-
Hi there, In the Downloads section, if one wants to offer URLs to sites with downloads (not uploaded files, not URLs to self-hosted files) how can this be accomplished? Hoping for a practical answer from someone who has done this. Thank you

Any recommendations re very good global debt collectors, ideally they buy the debt outright for cash to get fast results? Are there add-ons that would automate this process (similar to payment gateways)?
-
Hi, Does anyone have recommendations or good experience with unpaid invoices given to debt collection? What are some very good debt collectors that work across the globe, so that one would send them the invoices and they would be very good at collecting or would buy the debt off and one would have cash at once? Does anyone have experience with factoring? Is there an add-on that would automate this process (similar to a payment gateway)? Thank you for your wisdom and ideas! 🙂

But 8.2.1 breaks a number of things, so we went back to our 7.10.2 and seek an alternative to buggy whmcs... -

Problem solved by upgrading to 7.10.3 first, then to 8.2.1, very odd! -

upgrade from 7.10.2 to 8.2.1 fails
ptmzr posted a topic in Installation, Upgrade, and Import Support
Hi, When trying to upgrade from 7.10.2 to 8.2.1 it fails to even display the /install.php page From the CLI the output is: ----- Database schema version.............. 7.10.2-release.1 Deployed WHMCS application version... 8.2.1-release.1 ----- But no update happened, it keeps displaying 7.10.2 in the app. » systemhealthandupdates.php says 7.10.2 » update.php says Your Version: 7.10.2 General Release: 7.10.2-release.1 Latest Version: 7.10.0 General Release: 7.10.0-release.1 but it should say 8.2.1 for my license!!! Also the DB tblconfiguration shows: Version 7.10.2-release.1 UpdaterLatestVersion 7.10.0-release.1 UpdaterLatestBetaVersion 7.10.0-release.1 UpdaterLatestStableVersion 7.10.0-release.1 UpdaterLatestSupportAndUpdatesVersion 8.7.3-release.1 How can one resolve this and make the update really work? Grateful for any helpful advice! -
So, what is the record of last month re these: #1 How many existing/reported security holes have been fixed? #2 How many existing/reported bugs have been fixed? #3 Which is the top rated feature to be implemented and what is the progress on it? Thank you, Your customer
-
Yeah, I tried this for a short period of time, then quickly returned it during trial period, since it is (as you wrote) quite basic, and when reading that some good features were taken out and replaced with less functionality, it was all clear to me, that another system will have to do. Some integrations are not worth it, and it is better to use dedicated software. SuiteCRM seems a good CRM, incl Project Management, Work Flow, and soon even Surveys, and it is free open source You then have to integrate a few things if you want to use both, each for some part, but that is better than not having the features you need.

This seems best. It'd allow easy discussion/contribution by all members, no second forum for FRs, and repeated FRs could be immediately folded into one, etc. Is this doable @chrisdowns ?

Kudos! Good job with the migration and forum/community software choice. Thx -
It would be good if WHMCS could use something like the above to react to feature requests. totally agree! thumbs of for that suggestion (who want to go to a separate site for each single action if it is linked to the same thing anyway) that's so true! ...the use of 'libraries' makes 'modern' programmers into puzzlers, and hence the occasional real development become a safari...and once you don't know anymore what each part/line does, it takes so much longer to truly develop new features... True...but it is worth considering the monthly fees now...and it is solid software for the most part, and with the largest footprint in its space. Is it not alloWed to say Here which forum iT is? What's missing?

That (see quote above) is definitely a key indicator, in this case, for what seems to be significantly untimely decision/action. We are very interested in as fast development as good quality allows (so sometimes slow is ok). We are sure WHMCS would find at least a hundred (beta) testers if it was only about quickly finding out if new developments are buggy, so it cannot be that. Considering that we know first hand that there are many developers who release bug fixes daily/weekly and new features once a month or even more oft, it is advisable to take this seriously - perhaps prioritised e.g. like this: security #1 (stop almost all other ops and focus on that), bugs #2 (focus on that except #1), new features #3 (focus on that except #1 or #2). WHMCS customers/users it seems cannot even help themselves and fix, since it is ion-cubed, and hence customers/users are somewhat at the mercy of WHMCS, which does not make it a dictatorship, but the many options and co-developmental ways of this day and age are pervasive. What do you think, is there a better way?

Many thanks for the numerous public and private messages! We have reverted and look forward to working with you.

If it is not enough, it might not be a function of cost, since outsourcing should work. If it is management of people, tasks, bugs, etc... it might already help to have a good project, bug, and test management system. I wish we could help!

Hi to all developers! The aim is to have more control and options re KB articles. The requirements so far: # settings for ea KB article (or category) to be public or private # if private, then allow assignment to customer (or groups) also by product/service, so that only those designated can view it # perhaps you will have some additional ideas on the way Please get in touch via PM. Thank you! PS: If others want that too, perhaps we can pool for better specs and lower cost.

Hi to all developers! As the issue from https://forums.whmcs.com/showthread.php?132613-Hosting-orders-for-5-and-10-years has not been resolved ever since, is there a developer who can fix it? It needs to make billing for up to 10 years possible, allow easy sync with other times, and perhaps you will have some additional ideas on the way Please get in touch via PM. Thank you! PS: If others want that too, perhaps we can pool for better specs and lower cost.

Thanks for taking great care re the selection! -
Nice depth! Gave me a smile Re needs: #1 keep various projects separate while communicating with different or same staff about tasks/milestones #2 each staff should be able to reply or upload or approve previous steps/documents #3 to automate certain tasks, some workflow element would be appreciated #4 flexible billing for tasks/milestones/time #5 staff review and awards, both private and public > missing one that I used back to 2001 by a company seems that now works only as hosting provider Was that an SaaS solution or a self-hosted script? Can you tell the name of the software/company? > current ones...very complicated...instead to save time...wasting time Agreed, sometimes it is better, especially for unique projects, to just use simple tools (e.g. txt, email, chat, paypal invoice). I could give you access to a system, and you could tell me if you find it better than the two Project Mgmt addons, cause I can still give it back (30d return), especially since development seems slow...

Would you be able to fix it, or even make an addon out of it? - - - Updated - - - That might be the only way to get WHMCS move faster with development

Hi, Is anyone using WHMCS in a similar way as described in the older post quoted below? I too would like to use WHMCS to tie a number (of otherwise dispersed) services together. Any hints, solutions, ideas? Thank you! WHMCS as a "single point" of user management in the big project
