techietype
Hi there, I'm new around here, and I have some questions for anyone that has experience with using eNom and WHMCS... First of all, if one of our customers purchases a domain through WHMCS (which is set up to automatically register through our eNom reseller account), does WHMCS set the customer up with an enom retail sub-account, so they can log in on their own at enom.com? Or does it just register the domain? Also, we're going to be providing reseller hosting, and I've seen that many providers have an automated form that allows their reseller customers to automatically set up a free enom reseller account, and I wanted to know if there's some kind of WHMCS module for such a system... If you know of any pre-made script that can do this, I'd really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction! Even if it's not something that supports WHMCS integration out of the box! Thanks, Jake
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 17, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 17, 2009 Hi, It just registers the domain in your eNom account, it doesn't create a sub-account. I don't know of an automated eNom form available for WHMCS.
neobug103
John, Matt has an automated enom reseller account form available in the whmcs client area. The form allows us to automatically create an enom reseller account under your primary enom account. Might you be willing to share the code?
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 31, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 31, 2009 Best open a support ticket an ask Matt about getting the code, I do believe it is for sale.
Daniel
It is but Enom won't allow you to create a reseller automatically, it seems they've made an exception for WHMCS. We've bought it and modified it to create a retail account, if a client wants to upgrade to reseller they submit a ticket with us and we upgrade it.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 31, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 31, 2009 They don't grant the ability to make reseller accounts to everyone, but it is possible.
Daniel
After speaking to them numerous times, they told me they don't grant it for anyone and didn't seem to budge.

Daniel
Probably worth asking Enom if they'll enable it on your account before shelling out for it, I'd be interested to know if they enable it for you too.
othellotech
Enom only allow automated sub-accounts for Strategic Software Partners, the feature was even removed form ETPs due to high levels of fraudulent activity almost 2 years ago (s'when we started having to create them manually). The api commands dont work on a standard enom account.
Daniel
That explains it then, though having it automatically create retail accounts is still a big help.
