And the difference is MS word (to my knowledge) WASNT released with open source. it would have been released with closed source, and when they tried to sell it later users had a choice between free and crap or pay and get the new version, but if this was released as open source for free, it would be harder for him to make money as he would be (in theory) having to compete against community development to be able to justify them paying Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
