Though we never got POP to work, ever (we *are* the provider), do you feel Gmail refusing to allow a connection could be based on a firewall at his server blocking egress to 995? A port 110 fail makes sense, since they force 995, but 995 also failing? Likely something else going on there, at least in my opinion. Worth checking, but I have doubts.
DennisHermannsen
If you're seeing a "Connection timed out" error, it's most definitely a firewall issue. Either your server is blocking the connection to port 995 on pop.gmail.com, or gmail is blocking your incoming request. Are you able to telnet to port 995 on pop.gmail.com?

Ranjan
It was not a firewall issue, I just modified the app and submited for re-verify. it worked.
