What exactly is WHMCS?

I wanted to know what exactly is WHMCS? Is this something like C-Panel? I have a confusion about these. According to my understanding, C-Panel is software in a hosting account which allows us to manage different things related to the websites. 

While WHMCS is a software which can create more C-panel accounts in a single account... Something like when you are a reseller. 

If I am correct, kindly let me know and if it is something else, then kindly explain me the difference.

WHMCS is used for billing, deploying (creating) new services, managing those services, and customer support.  Services it handles are endless as you can create modules to handle almost anything that has an API (application interface).  It can create (deploy) user accounts on servers, but you need to provide that server information before hand.   It wont directly create user within users on cpanel for example, but if you had a module that did that then it could.

Whmcs is used by Hosting Companys to automate billing and can make cPanel accounts for customers.

WHMCS is amazing for billing automation! You can get Addons as well! <removed link per community guidelines> I use the software Licensing Addon which was 99 one time! I also beefed up the license verification portal that Came stock with it.
