SWHBilly
I just updated to V7.0.1 from 6.x. A little bumpy but all in all it seems to be working fine. That all being said I am trying to get it fully configured and ready to go for future updates. So I know that I am at the latest version and cannot yet use the auto-updater to update to a new version BUT I want to get it configured so t hat I am ready when the time comes. But it won't save with my settings. So I go to Utilities -> Update WHMCS and I authenticate. In the top right I choose: CONFIGURE UPDATE SETTINGS. I set my update type to stable, put in a path of a dir I created for my temp path, and an update note and hit SAVE. Nothing happens. I have let it sit for 15 minutes and nothing happens, no errors, nothing. If I close the window hit the CONFIGURE UPDATE SETTINGS option again my settings have not been saved. I have tried only changing one setting, tried different setting options and so on, but no matter what combination of settings I try it is the same end result....I cannot save these settings. Any ideas?
slim
I had similar issues. Try just setting the the branch first (dont put a path) then save. Then try again with the path.
panacheweb
why the hell are we using fopen in 2016, and not curl??? fopen is designed for local files, not remote file access, whereas curl is for remote file access.

johnc
This is my case. Upgrade from 6.3.3 to 7.0.1. I had same issue that could not click [save Changes] on Configure Update Settings (I am using Chrome) I patched 7.0.2, 7.0.3, but still same issue occurred. Just in case I tried Microsoft Edge [save Changes] button, it works. This is Browser browser compatibility issue. - - - Updated - - - I am correcting myself above. This is not Browser browser compatibility issue but browser cache issue. My Chrome remembered cached javascrip or css from 6.3.3, it triggers "CAN NOT CLICK BUTTON". After Deleting Cache, it works correctly.
Future1
For anyone else with a similar issue, this can be due to Wordfence firewall blocking the request. Go into your Wordfence settings on your site and into the live section and find the recently blocked request, add it to whitelist, update path can then be saved.
