lance
Does anyone use pin numbers for live chat support? eg a client can set a pin in their client area, and when comes to live chat they can quote their pin for verification... Looking for one the client sets and it remains rather than one that's auto generated and expired after xxx hours Anyone use any plugins etc for this?

zomex
That's a good idea Lance, I do use a pin for client accounts as a password reset tool. For live chat if something requires access I ask the customer to submit a ticket from inside their account but your pin idea sounds like it would be a better solution.
lance
I found customers coming to live chat we getting miffed about being directed to the support ticket function, seems it was a hurdle we could remove easily.. SO when coming onto live chat they have to validate their registered email address and pin before we will be able to provide support, so verifying 2 things that's been set by the client works for us, it also makes the clients journey simpler
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted August 24, 2016 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted August 24, 2016 Hi, If you use them, you might also ask customers for their security question answer: http://docs.whmcs.com/Security_Questions
lance
We use that already john, but mothers maiden name could be known by friend or family etc, so wanted an additional layer of security for the live chat support.
