hotirish99
I'm running version 6.3.1 and I've just noticed a discrepancy between the totals between the VAT MOSS & Sales Tax liability reports. I pay national VAT every 4 months and use the Sales Tax liability report to calculate that. However if I use the Sales Tax report to calculate tax from 1 Jan to 31 March and set the VAT MOSS report to Q1, I'm getting different totals. I would expect the VAT total for my home country in the VAT MOSS report would match the Tax Level 1 Liability in Sales Tax, but it doesn't. Anyone else getting this?
zomex
Hello, Is your VAT tax set as level 1?
hotirish99
VAT rules for all EU countries are set for level 1 and the EU VAT addon is enabled.
brian!
any chance of refunds or credit invoices causing the difference? the two queries in these reports are similar, but not the same.
hotirish99
I've just gone through the refunds/credits and removed some cancelled transactions. It was throwing it out a bit, but the Tax liability report is now showing me the total VAT due (i.e it's giving me the same total at the VAT MOSS report with all the countries added together). Surely it should only be giving me the totals for the national VAT?
brian!
Surely it should only be giving me the totals for the national VAT? I suspect it's always given just the total sales liability - most of these reports are quite old and tend to be generic in their output... to allow for differing tax rules worldwide.
Administrators WHMCS John Posted July 14, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 14, 2016 Hi, The main difference between the two is that the VAT MOSS report only considers invoices belonging to clients in an EU member state. The Sales Tax Liability report shows all taxed invoices.
