Is affiliate payment one time for recurring subscriptions?

Hi,

 

I have a yearly subscription product and I'm selling it with WHMCS. I want to start an affiliate program but I only want the person to get paid for the first initial sale and not keep getting payments each year for that person. Is this how the affiliate program works or is it not possible?

it can work either as a one-off or recurring (per product) - the choice is yours.

Ticking the One Time Payout checkbox will give the commission only once. The default commission setting for WHMCS is recurring.

We would like to use the affiliate commission system for a given period of time (ie each month during 3 years from the first payment of a new customer).

Can WHMCS handle this? Or is there an add on that handle this ?

is there any way to make it "one-time" by default rather than recurring?

I also do not want it applied to all products by default, as some I do not have any room for commission and do not want it to be enabled by accident or default.
there seems to be a lot of room for error here.
I only want it enabled if I have explicitly enabled it on a product.
