weeps
I just installed whmcs on my website and submitted a test entry into the pre-sales form and can't figure out where we would go to view these presales questions now. I don't see anything in the admin, says 0 tickets still.
minadreapta
i think the pre-sales questions submitted over that form are not tickets. they are supposed to be messages sent to your email address through that form. to the email address you've setup in the admin interface.
weeps
Can you be a little more specific as to waht email address in the admin area. thanks.
minadreapta
i think you should check the "general configuration" settings make sure all the fields are filled in properly. you should also check the "Support Departments" section. also you should assign an operator to a department... also try to read the WHMCS KB: http://support.whmcs.com/knowledgebase.php and the WHMCS manual: http://v3manual.whmcs.com/
arteryplanet
It use the Email address in the General configuration section....i already requested to Matt add another field to have a way to use any other email address, not sure if he will do it or not. Thanx!
impactgc
maybe instead of having it go to an email address - add it as a Sales Ticket. Or allow you to pick how you want it to go. Thanks, Adam
weeps
Could I use the email piping to get it into a the ticket system, or is the email I enter there used for other things aswell...?
charlottezweb
Just came here for this same issue. If you have your system set to only allow clients to submit tickets, if someone contacts you with a pre-sales question, they get a message that they aren't allowed to open tickets. Yikes.
WHMCS CEO Matt Posted January 11, 2008 WHMCS CEO Share Posted January 11, 2008 Just came here for this same issue. If you have your system set to only allow clients to submit tickets, if someone contacts you with a pre-sales question, they get a message that they aren't allowed to open tickets. Yikes. That's exactly why you have the field to be able to enter where you want the email to go. That will need setting to an email that you don't pipe or create a pre-sales department that is open to non-clients. Matt

Where is it located and what's it called? Thanks!
Daniel
Configuration > Support Departments Click "Edit" next to the department that your contact form goes to and untick "Clients Only - Tick this box to only allow registered clients to open tickets in this department"
charlottezweb
Configuration > Support Departments Click "Edit" next to the department that your contact form goes to and untick "Clients Only - Tick this box to only allow registered clients to open tickets in this department" I've toyed with that already without success. Where I can tell the system the address to send the contact form to? In other words... I have a support@ and a sales@ address. Apparently the contact form is going to my support@ address instead of the sales one where it should logically go.
wickshosting
I think it just goes to the main email address in General Configuration. It would be nice to have a way to have the pre-sales form generate a ticket.
WHMCS Developer WHMCS Andrew Posted January 16, 2008 WHMCS Developer Share Posted January 16, 2008 Just change the link to goto the sales ticket location, or hide it altogether (there is an option in the General configuration to hide it)
