Discusting WHMCS behaviur

This is an assumption that every security release contains only updates to thwart publicly disclosed issues. When in fact it is not.

Again, you're ignoring the glaringly obvious here, just because you want to pretend there's no elephant in the room. The fact is that you've ignored these glaring security holes for years, refusing to adapt, refusing to adjust, refusing to secure.

WHMCS is a completely separate company from cPanel. They're Perl development staff has no hands inside WHMCS. Stating that cPanel is responsible is not accurate.

cPanel maintains a heavy interest in WHMCS, yes, it is their responsibility to assist with this

There is no hiding behind an LTS.

Then where's the fixes for v4, v3, v2, even v1?

Your company introduced massive security flaws into the wild, due to it's piss poor programming

Your company has an obligation, not only to your customers, but to their customers to fix this issue

Your company refuses to do so properly

This is completely inaccurate. As I just spoke with the company who performed the last one this week.

Yeah, and I'm Santa

IF said audit was performed (and I highly doubt that), it was performed by a kid in his (or her) mom's basement , not a professional. NO professional audit has ever been conducted on WHMCS' code, none. If it had been, then we wouldn't be sitting here, week after week after freaking week going through the same old same old BS.

STOP trying to pass this on to the individual releasing these

STOP trying to sweep this under the rug

START taking responsibility for the BS that you have put your customers through

I'm not certain a software has been introduced that has never had an issue, let along only a single one.

This isn't one issue here. This is many massive issues over the course of 7 years. Every time that this happens we get, well...

A public statement will be made within the next few days to address a lot of these questions.

NOBODY BELIEVES IT!

This is the same old boring pattern here. You deflect, try to pass this on to the hacker, you blame them for not giving you enough time to fix it, when you've had 7 years to fix these glaringly obvious issues

Stick a fork in WHMCS, it's done. You can try all the snake oil salesman garbage you want, but you and your company have had their day, and it's time to move on.

You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting

You replaced Modernbill, something else will replace you. Given the pathetic attitude of the support staff, the pathetic security updates, the pathetic code, your time is done

They shouldn't have to support software that is that old, I can understand them supporting early 5.x versions but it's a joke wanting them to support anything from 4.x and below, or even software a year outdated. The maintenance is too time consuming and not worth it.

If your using 4.x or below and get hacked you deserve it imo.

Not many software creators support old versions of software anymore, especially when it concerns software for websites.

Using the latest versions is best.

I'm sure I'm not the only one sick of reading your rants.

There's a nice feature, as mentioned before, called ignore. I suggest you use it. I will not have what I say dictated to by someone who just can't grasp reality, or understand the severity of the actions of these clueless individuals.

Ordinarily, yes, you're right. We're not talking about ordinary circumstances however. We're talking about circumstances where serious damage can be done because of someone's pathetic code. WHMCS is responsible for fixing this, in all releases, since it's THEIR code that caused this

NOT everyone is going to update just because they're told to. have you seen the mess that comes from updating WHMCS? Especially when you're talking 5.x, it's a nightmare when you have written your own code, simply because someone forgot to check their code!

Greetings all, this thread is taking a bad turn here and so is now closed. Tom, you've been benched, as you might have expected was coming. There is no need for us all to put you on our ignore lists and leave you rant any way you wish.
