Resellerclub Customers Receiving Message of Registrar Name Change

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Several of our customers have gotten e-mail messages like the following. Neither the message content nor Googling has provided a clear explanation and the customers are contacting us for an explanation. Does anyone know the story on this?

I've seen this from NetEarthOne which I assume relates to the same thing. Seems like a purely administrative change:

DirectI / Logicboxes are changing the registrar name and debranding more for the TLDs listed below.

To enhance your white-labeled experience with the platform, LB will be renaming the current Registrar on record for the following TLDs to PDR Ltd D/B/A PublicDomainRegistry.com in the coming month.

.NAME

.TEL

.XXX

.MOBI

Change in WHOIS Details:

The WHOIS details will show PDR Ltd D/B/A PublicDomainRegistry.com as the Registrar on record as opposed to Directi Internet Solutions Pvt. Ltd. D/B/A PublicDomainRegistry.com. Notification to all Registrants:

LB will be notifying all Registrants about this transfer of Registrar Accreditation.

Why do we need to do this?

As per ICANN's regulations, all Registrars are required to notify Registrants in case of a change/transfer of Registrar accreditation.

More information on this mandate can be found : (Point 11. Transfer of Registrar Accreditation) http://www.icann.org/en/resources/registrars/accreditation/application

How will this be done?

A completely white-labeled mail containing details of this change will be sent to your Customers from Public Domain Registry starting from the 19th of July, 2012.

This email will be sent from do_not_reply@publicdomainregistry.com.

LB assures you that your brand name will not be compromised in any way with this email. This email will also not contain any mention of DI / LogicBoxes.

Please Note: Each Registrant will be sent only 1 email i.e. even if a Registrant has registered multiple domains through us, he will receive only one mail.

Kind regards, Reseller Support @NEO

maybe the reason we have not been emailed is that all domains in our resellerclub account are

TAG's are only used on .UK domains

The email is going out to all directi clients with a gTLD , resellerclub resellers (and their clients), logicbox users (and their clients) etc - i.e. anyone who has "business relationship" for their domain via directi in some fashion - all the domains are being moved to a new registrar - people can only guess/speculate what is happening with the current one ...
