Jorge Oliveira
hows it going? attached screenshot is my admin area after 5.12 upgrade. There's a big area to the right of where the sidebar is that looks all sorts of wrong. Minimising the sidebar does not help, the links on the sidebar just get reduced to a tab that says 'open sidebar'. Cron doesn't do anything either. I'm not completely sure but I think this was not the case the first moment after I installed it. Only saw it the day after. Any help appreciated. Cleaning your templates_c folder should help, only keep index.php

I had some strange problems when that changed once between updates and I'd not uploaded the js folder.
urbee
This version is horrible. Thank god i had a backup to downgrade again. I'm waiting for some fixes.
ShaunR
For whatever reason WHMCS doesn't publish all the patches, if you ask them for a version that's been completely patched they'll send you a link to download it. A public bug system would really be nice! I'm tired of tracking down bugs just to find out WHMCS already fixed it.

Not even close! They tend to post patches the first few weeks after a release and then anything after that nobody will see until you ask for it, or wait for the next release. For example here's a file diff from the .zip they include in their client interface for 5.1.2 and the patched version you will get if you ask for it. I want to see a real bug system in place, one that allows us to see every bug and the status of that bug! I want to see a better more active changelog. And i want to be able to download these patches easily, obviously since WHMCS is encoded that posses a problem since if there are multiple fixes for a single file that means you cannot just download a single patch. But still we should be able to download the latest patched version easily and be able to look at it's changelog and see what was done to it! kris1351
This has been an awful update. When your system recommends an update it should be production ready and not this. The worst part is their support team has taken vacation it seems.
easyhosting
Forget it this time. Now, I will wait for at least a month before upgrade and will monitor Bugs section very closely. I have already lost much more due to the bugs. i waited before upgrading to 5.1.2 for production, but the best advise i can give is get a dev licence and install any upgrades onto this so you can test it and find bugs that will effect your business and then when you are happy then you can upgrade your production.

ShaunR
FYI I asked for a patched up version via a ticket and was told they don't do that. That was less than a week ago. Ask again, it's hit and miss sometimes with their support people. I'd post the link here but I think they might get alittle upset because it's located in a dropbox account with no access control (they put it their, not me). There shouldn't be any need, we used the standard download... That's not true, for whatever reason they don't update those archives with the fixes.

brianr
That's not true, for whatever reason they don't update those archives with the fixes. It's for a number of reasons, least of which is proper version tracking. If I download a copy of 5.1.2 as soon as it came out, and then on my production server use a fresh download of 5.1.2 60-days later, they should, by definition of the version number, be the same. On the other side of the coin, if I know there is bug X, and there's a patch for it, I know that I either have it because I download it and applied it (good patch management), or I don't because I didn't. I don't have to guess what versions of which files are release versions and which are patched. At the same time, WHMCS really should be updating the 5.1.2 patch thread, or release 5.1.2a with the rollup fixes from all the 5.1.2 patches. (I would guess the latter would be unfavorable as the number of people who suffer from a unpatched 5.1.2 are far smaller then the horde that would descend on their upgrade service.)

Strother
Here is the reply that I got when I opened a ticket requesting an updated package. In my ticket, I said: According to this forum post there is an update to v5.1.2, but it has to be requested via a service ticket? If there is such an upgrade, I am requesting it herein. http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?52238-Too-Many-Issues-with-5-1-2/page6 Which got this reply: I am afraid we do not offer a copy that has all current updates already applied to it. However, we have provided a number of patches in the following forum thread: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?51266-V5-1-Patches If you are experiencing particular issues, please advise and include step by step information on how to reproduce it. Chrisw
To be honest, I would call this rather shady. I brought this up a long time ago as WHMCS forces resellers to retain their own downloads repo and it is very difficult to keep updated with everything being hidden. There should be at least a revision number or something. At the very least WHMCS could provide a restricted download repo for resellers to assist in keeping our downloads updated. WHMCS does silently inject patches/fixes in the current download fixes but when there is no indication it's hard to keep track not only for end users but also for resellers and their end users.

safora
This new version is JOKE!!!! I have paid for an upgrade and integration of my template - they include a header/image carousel on the WHMCS pages? I mean why would they do that? the sub pages on my site dont have headers. When I tell them about this they don't know what a header is!!! Then the main problem:- I paid for an upgrade yet they have removed the box where you can remove or edit a Worldpay Futurepay ID tag from a client recordcard. I'm being told it's there when it isn't from their support. And my ex who also runs a hosting company is being told completely different things. So no my clients cant change their card details without working out how to log into Worldpay - As most of my clients can't use a computer properly this is just RIDICULOUS!! I'm not happy paying for my system to be downgraded. Then when a customer now pays successfully with paypal the success page is formatted badly - this didnt happen before I "upgraded" and yet the WHMCS "support" (They're not really support!!!!) say it's the reply from Worldpay and I need to speak to them - if this is the case why wasn't it happening before the "upgrade"????? Anyway I'm not happy having my billing system held at ransom by these WHMCS people who obviously arn't trained properly and don't even seem to know what they're doing. They obviously don't think the features they add or remove through properly and the impact is has on their customers Has anyone else used any other scripts??? I'd like to move away from WHMCS after all these issues it's a joke!!! After being ripped off for a license and an upgrade for this rubbish I shall be posting all over the internet about this if the problem isnt remedied - I think other people who potentially want to run their business using this system should know the quality of WHMCS support and how they can left without a critical feature with no warning. NOT A GOOD POSITION TO BE IN!!!! Edited November 16, 2012 by safora
openmind
I'm fairly confident I can say that for everyone person like you there are hundreds of others who don't feel the need to rant and attempt to slander the abilities of the WHMCS team. If you're not happy with the product then toddle off to another solution, no one is going to stop you...
Strother
When that sort of diatribe is the content of their first post, It usually leads me to believe they aren't really here to move the process forward. On it's worst day WHMCS is the best thing going.
