Licensing Addon Questions

Is there anyway to snag someone on the phone to answer some questions about purchasing the Licensing Addon for a number of clients?

 

I got an email saying they charge for phone consultations? And I thought drugs were illegal over in the UK? LOL

 

I am sure that was a mistake as that would be the biggest Wally move I have ever heard of.. but is there any real documentation or demos?

 

Great looking site and all but kind of light on some essential details. Or perhaps they are just hidden because they don't want too much business. Hey, it could be a new business model.

 

Seriously though, is there any where to find out questions about the Licensing Addon with a Demo so I can actually see what it does?? Spent 20 minutes of my life that I will never get back looking. Specifically can you do free trials, link it to monthly recurring billing through PayPal etc.

 

If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be GREAT! Been a long day and if would just be nice to not have to dig for things that should be easy to find for customers. I see this all of the time with my clients and it is just silly. Especially when it seems like WH is a good product. I hope so as i have a bunch of clients that could use something like this.

a majority of service supplier will charge for phone consulations, the biggest one microsoft who will charge you £46 before they e ven do anything.

Guess that is why we are snagging customers left and right and Microsoft is losing market share. It would not be so bad if there was any proper detailed documentation or a free demo... Is there???

 

But, I love it when a client has competition that does this although it is really rare as most companies that do go out of business.. Just because a lot of people do it does not make it good marketing.

They are really just shooting themselves in the foot. Most of our clients won't deal with companies that are not at least willing to help them buy the product they are selling.

 

It is actually quite funny to tell you the truth. Just think about it. " I have this really cool product, but I don't have exact details or specs I can show, no screen shots, no videos, and no, you can't call us up for 2 minutes to find out if it is right for you and 100 to 400 of your clients, well actually it is, trust us, but we are going to charge you $75 dollars or is it Pounds so you can potentially send us $10,000 to $40,000. worth of business" It is the funniest marketing ploy I have ever heard of to tell you the truth.

 

I am sure they are great guys and gals, I can only hope that the product is good because if it works, we really do have a boat load of clients that could use it, but they would never go through this to find out about it.

 

Do they at least have a free demo or a money back guarantee?

 

We use their Dashboard and it is pretty good which is the only reason I was told to find out about this in the first place.

 

Another 5 minutes of my life I won't get back.

 

This is actually getting to be entertaining.

We use the licensing addon to license WHMCS, so you most certainly can do free trials if you write a little bit of code to end the license after x number of days. The free trials mod would probably be a good starting point: http://www.whmcs.com/members/communityaddons.php?action=viewmod&id=49

I sent Bob to get this hashed out. We have been trying a lot of software lately and he is a bit miffed at me. So his patience for finding things he should be able to find out quickly is a bit short. I asked him to have a report on my desk by this morning, but I can see that is not going to happen.

 

Here are my questions for you. I sent in a request ticket but don't have an answer yet. So here goes.

 

If we have our own branded version of WHMC then this mod becomes branded too?

 

Does this work with IonCube?

 

What is your guarantee with your products? I don't see it any stated anywhere. Perhaps I missed it?

 

We have tried over 20 software products over the past year and 15 turned out to be a complete and utter waste of time and that is why I am asking.

 

I am just a bit hesitant about spending $600 to have a couple team members spend a whole day on a product that could turn out to be a big waste of our time again. So, that is why I am asking since I have to write the checks . It is not the product cost so much as the cost of finding out the big question. Will it work for what we want it to do.

Bob, we just purchased and installed the licensing module for WHMCS 1 week ago to use on our WHMCS module just released. We know just a few bumps that were involved to get it installed and working 100%. Once integrated with your (widget) it works very slick. But, YA' I know, reading the dry text stuff just doesn't make a vivid picture of how it really works. Now that we have been through it (the install and integration process) we could do it again in far less time. Maybe with out our trussed valued php code writer person. Well, maybe not! Anyway don't want to live my life typing so if your have questions, just ask. We're all here together to make it all work one way or another.

How well does the licensing addon work for WHMCS hooks? I'm thinking about selling a hook for WHMCS; is anybody doing this and does anyone have ideas as to how I can do it with a one-file hook?
