WHMCS Live RELEASED!!

Recommended Posts

This project is slowly starting to not look so healthy.

Looks can be deceiving. On the contrary WHMCS Live has undergone a 90% source rewrite which was primarily initiated not to reduce, but "eliminate" compatibility issues effecting 6% of reported users. Secondarily the rewrite has not only added a great deal of features, but drastically expanded long term potential and performance with the use of web services.

Both the Desktop App(beta) and web based operator console connect via WSDL to perform all required operations, but due to the nature of services this is not being limited. Other applications/devices(eg. iPhone, Mobile Java) are capable and in the works :)

While the ridiculous amount of time involved in this rewrite has left some people scratching their heads, or losing confidence in this project(to put it lightly), there's no doubt that this was absolutely necessary. Necessary to not only ensure compatibility and to address current bugs(thanks Seb), but also to expand future capabilities.

Considering this major overhaul, Live has jumped to version 2.0 which starts beta testing today :) The testers selected have been notified by email and must complete/return the attached NDA prior to receiving download instructions. Only a few will be testing the Desktop App at the moment, but you'll all have a chance :)

I'd like to once again thank all those who have been so supportive and as a token of my appreciation all owned licenses purchased "prior" to today(12/07/2009) will receive the Desktop App free of charge :)

That's strange. My records show you ordering the trial less than 2 days before..

It wasn't far off 3 days, and I assumed that it would be at least another day for you to reply to my emails - and I was right. You only seem to pop up when people are leaving bad feedback.

I'm sorry it seemed that way, but I am a bit confused.. You do realize that you ordered a free trial? Although I'd love for you to be able to try it, hence why I help those with trials even though support isn't technically included. But the point of a trial is if it doesn't fit your needs you haven't lost anything.

Why on earth should it matter if I ordered a free trial or not? - If I ordered a free trial from other places they would of made sure I was up and running - they know that if the customer can't use their product or service, the customer will just walk away. Are you sure you're in the right job? You're supposed to provide customer service. Do you you realize that if I can't even get it working, you won't be making any money out of me?! Yes I appreciate you installing the module, but I have requested 3+ times now that I need the tracking code added. I have done the best I can, and as I do not know much about coding I therefore require someone who does, and because you're the main man involved, it is you I have requested help from.

Again, no support in getting it working, no sale. Not my loss my friend, I will just end up going elsewhere, but because you and your module are part of the WHMCS community here, I like to support them. I'm sure the company who owns the "Live Person" software is making enough money....

As I mentioned earlier, the correct channel for support is to submit a ticket. Looking at your account now and unfortunately it still indicates that you've never opened a ticket.

As I mentioned earlier, I have already contacted you via support emails - I haven't contacted you once through WHMCS. Speaking of support emails, you seem to of came on here to reply to peoples comments but have still not replied to my 3 emails!!

You're obviously deleting them and if that's how you are going to play this game then I shall call it a day as you don't seem to want my $90.

Yeah mate, I've tried it. I wouldn't say it was great though - it's not very professional. It's a little bit like play school. I prefer to use WHMCS Live (if it works) as it's integrated with the lovely billing and support system that I use - WHMCS :)

I'd like to make a few things clear to everyone that mite not know the history of WHMCS Live.

Prior to the recent "revamp" with version 2.0, the primary reason I started and continued developing WHMCS Live was for mine and my business's use. I chose to release it commercially because I knew it would help/fit many others needs, and if it generated a little revenue I'd be able to justify spending more time on it, which helps everyone.

Version 1.4 and previous, while working well for most, were clearly not matured and lacked many features other "non-integrated" live solutions have had years to develop. However < 1.4 did include some very unique features. :)

Considering other paid solutions, WHMCS Live is very reasonably priced. While the extra revenue is nice, it's not why I started WHMCS Live, and those who actually know how much I've put into the new version and associated apps would tell you it's a bad business decision. I'm far from breaking even on it, and the only reason I'm doing this is because I enjoy it. I enjoy the experience, overcoming the obstacles, of overall just "making something". :)

So to go back to your comment about me not making money off you.. You could buy 20 copies right now and I still wouldn't be close to making money :) It's really not about that for me. I'm not telling anyone not to buy it, but at the same time I'm not going to try to sell you. If you're interested you'll get a trial and make the choice for yourself. If you're part of that small % that can't get it working either because compatibility issues/bugs or you didn't follow the instructions correctly you're welcome to trial it once v2.0 goes public :) Anyone following this software from it's initial release knows it's a work in progress. If you try it out and purchasing it makes sense, great! If not, oh well. You can never please everyone, and honestly everyone here could think and tell me negative things and I'd still keep working on it for myself :) That being said, there's quite a few people that absolutely love it, people that have it setup flawlessly in 2 minutes and have never had problems.

As for your emails, the only unanswered one was sent Friday afternoon when you asked me to add the embed code for you. I just got in this morning and "personal emails" come after everything else, even after forums :). You used the "Request A Quote" form on my site which is for quotes. I'm sorry, I've just never had this issue and expected everyone to know to submit tickets for priority support.. Especially after specifying that last week:

I'll extend your trial as needed, but keep in mind that it's best to submit requests via a ticket rather than my personal email or PM as tickets take first priority :)

Can you take a look at the error with £ and special characters as a matter of priority ?

Yes, actually this is already fixed in the new release which has just started beta testing today. I'm trying to get it out ASAP, but just need to ensure we've thoroughly checked for bugs, etc..

Well it's been over a week now since I first asked for support and today my free trial has ended without me being even able to test the module. His sales and support literally stinks and I've just had enough of it. He either provides a sale and support to the WHMCS community or he gets off it - simple.

I'm off to look elsewhere. Live Person is supposed to be good, expensive - but at least they are happy to take my money!

His correspondence has always been timely for me. LivePerson is overpriced crap, you'd be better off with Kayako's live chat system if you wanted to spend proper money.

@TJ: I've had to come back and read this thread to see updates about the program, perhaps you could implement some announcement mailing list for people to subscribe to to receive updates regarding development? Would make my life easier :-)

Then it sounds like he just "picks and chooses" when he wants to reply to peoples sales and support emails. GS-Liam has had enough of the no responses also. He's logged into WHMCS forums at least twice since I sent him several support emails - and I've yet to receive a reply!

Indeed, hes actually commited fraud i belive it is, not providing me with the services he says he offers, he said he'd give me free access to his mods with the module i brought, he denied access after i tryed getting support from him,

Still to this date havnt got the modules i paid for or support for that matter

He should be struck off the WHMCS community forums for doing such things. He's obviously a conman and holds grudges against people who offer support, or even sales for that matter. I've just about had enough of his crap. I would NEVER treat my clients like that. Absolutely wrong and he belongs in jail! I'm sure the prisons in Utah would love to have him :)

Livezilla not professional ? I disagree completely.

We went from Kayako to Livezilla, isn't that something...

If you're interested in this module simply download the trial. If you're happy with it and would like to purchase it, great, but if not than you're welcome to download another trial once it's matured a bit more.Once again, thanks to everyone who have been so supportive of this module :)

LOL - I was interested in this module, but this cowboy won't let me get it working. How can I be happy with it after the trial if I can't even use the trial?!?!?!

I'll leave you to your XBox...

OK, that's fine. So can you sort it out for me please, I'd like to start using it. Would email you instead but it seems that I get quicker responses here!

Wrote that days ago, seems like he's ignoring all my direct questions to him on here too! He doesn't belong here on these forums, scamming people and providing bad customer support. Done anymore fraud lately??

If the software is beeing completely rewritten:

- Stop offering trials of the older version, right ?

- Stop waisting time arguing with people and spend more time getting work done.

- I suggest showing some screenshots of the new version you are already testing

- Answer any question in any method sent to you, it's in your interest right ?

Start thinking about the way you treat us, WE are your potential customers, and probably the ones that will help you get rid of any bugs, so other won't have this bad experiencie with you and your software.

This will also avoid anyone thinking about making something similar or better and faster than what you are doing, just to screw you over, which is not uncommon now days.

Just my personal suggestion.

I started testing this chat last friday and it is working perfectly. I could customize it in less than 30 minutes but I just noticed that when start a chat with a client server load goes up very quickly. If I close the window of the console load does down. I have it installed at a dedicated, so I know the issue is with the console.

I wonder if anyone is having the same issue.
