Nexxterra
Why in forums, do people that reply to a post find it necessary to copy the entire post in their reply? I can understand a line or 2, or breaking it up question by question, but I find it silly that the OP can show up 10 times with only 14 posts! (I know some smart ass is going to copy this when they reply!)
redrat
I have often wondered about this myself.
BAJI26
Its the QUOTE function and sometimes a thread gets side track and another person will respond to the original post and the only way to let ppls know which post you are referring to is to quote!

Sorry, I had to do it! But it is way over used, I see it like I just did 2 or 3 doen from the OP!

redrat
People are lazy! That was the conclusion I came to eventually. Rarely is it essential to quote the entire post, just the relevant part of it. Some things will never change though.
bear
(I know some smart ass is going to copy this when they reply!) Have to admit I was tempted until I read this bit. I see it all the time, where it's a one or two word reply and a 7 paragraph quote. A bit annoying, I'll admit.
WHMCS Support Manager WHMCS John Posted July 8, 2009 WHMCS Support Manager Share Posted July 8, 2009 At least we don't get massive quote chains here, unlike one particular forum I moderate.
uberhost
Some things will never change though. It sure seems that way, redrat. I've been participating in forums for 25 years now, and this lazy trait of quoting an entire message chain, only to add a "me too" post has been there all along.
