I'm looking to sign-up for the Directi reseller account (ResellerClub). I tried it out early last year and did not like the interface whatsoever, not to mention how painfully slow the panel was and dead the support is.

However, I'm in the demo now on their site and it seems much nicer/faster than my memory serves at least.

I would appreciate any feedback from those currently using this ResellerClub module with WHMCS. What are your pros and cons experience with the module and the service itself? If you can provide whmcs > clientside screenshots of the module interface I would appreciate it. Any specific domain management features missing that you want to let me know about?

Thanks

Been using directi for at least four years now. Panel's an absolute nightmare, but if you use the API through WHMCS, that's no problem.

The LB platform sucks as ever..lol

How about you guys explain in detail and offer come reasonable critique?

eNom has been excellent for us for nearly 10 years. Never any problems and great support. I pay $7.95 for most major domain (.com, .net, .org). Not sure how good that is as I haven't shopped around much.

It's about the same really, RC are a few cents cheaper but nothing noticeable. The signup prices (if you aren't going through a reseller) are a lot higher with eNom though if you want to go on the top pricing slab.

We use both eNom and RC, I agree that the RC control panel is a bit of a nightmare but we run everything through WHMCS and the API which works seemlessly.

The panel gets some kind of time-out or some kind of crash every now and then, and it is very difficult to set the pricing of the slabs, the design awefully suck, the panel is very complicated, nothing but problems..

D9Hosting,

Since you are using both Enom and RC and running RC through WHMCS, how do you handle Enom renewals?

I'm not sure what you mean as we handle them the same way we do the RC renewals. We just make sure auto-renew if OFF in our eNom account, then we set up WHMCS to automatically renew at the registrar when the client sends a payment for renewal.

So, if I understand you correctly, you're using RC and Enom to register and renew domains through WHMCS. Half of my clients are with RC and half with Enom and I was under the impression that you can't use two registrars with WHMCS.

I'd imagine it would be tricky if you automatically approved and submitted all new domain orders, but we screen them for fraud and then manually send them to the registrar, so all we need to do is select enom/directi from the drop down box.

When it comes time for renewal the renewal is sent to the registrar listed for that domain.

Ok sure - My point was that directi/resellerclub works very well in the interface with WHMCS. The only time we really need to login to resellerclub is to add additional funds. In that respect it works perfectly.

However, they use a 'myorderbox' control panel which can be very fiddly and confusing. Today, for instance, I wanted to take a look at how many domains I had registered through them, and was able to find out only by searching all orders within a specified time. I am sure there is an easier way but not that I have seen, and it's certainly in contrast to enom where all your domains are easily listed and sorted. Before we tied WHMCS into it, we would get emails that required actioning for some orders, but we could only action them through the email rather than my logging in.

The system is built so that direct resellerclub members can sell on not just to their customers, but to sub-resellers, who can then sell on to customers. With that comes complication with administration confusion, customer account billing limits, pending invoices against specific accounts. Again I am sure it is something which can be very useful... but when you principally just need to sell to direct customers, don't have the time to try and understand it all, and things are so hard to get to... it's utterly baffling.

BUT - I would like to stress that if you have this setup with WHMCS everything works *perfectly*. I didn't feel the need to go into this earlier as it really shouldn't affect you as it doesn't really affect us for day-to-day use.

Another quick point - with directi your pricing plan depends on the total receipts you have put through - so as you grow your pricing decreases. I'm not sure exactly how it works with enom, but the top level costs $6995 (in enom credit) which it looks like you need to pay in advance.
