Maintenance message still showing after upgrade

  1. re upload all the php files as your first upload may not have worked
  2. if that fails - reupload the install folder and visit to see if you get an upgrade option

SEO SETUP

  1. Enable SEO in admin configuration.
  2. Rename htaccess.txt to .htaccess as instructed
  3. Insert the below into your header.tpl (replacing your original <title> line)
    <title>{$companyname} - {$pagetitle}{if $kbarticle.title} - {$kbarticle.title}{/if}</title>
    {if $systemurl}<base href="{$systemurl}" />{/if}

  4. Consider the update in this thread: http://forum.whmcs.com/showthread.php?t=16326

I have this issue with maintenance mode and I'm just going to install fresh since I haven't launched my site yet.

One issue is that I have taken the recommended security precautions by taking admin, templates_c, attachments, download directories out of public view. I noticed that the upgrade deleted these changes from configuration.php -- I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it might be a clue... certainly it's a problem.
