AndrewMKP
We are creating a mod for WHMCS that allows us to sell broadband automatically, processed much like the hosting. Would anyone be interested in this mod? You could sell broadband through us or as an affiliate for example. Just wondering if there is an interest for hosts to sell good broadband or not, either way post your opinions and thoughts on this, it would be much appreciated. Kind Regards, Andrew.
Si
It very much depends on who 'you' are. we are VERY careful as to who we put our name to and our clients in contact with. We've been down the broadband route before and not had a good experience with a third party white label provider before and pulled the plug on it as their customer services was so poor it was harming our business. I'm not saying no, but what I always say is, that I would seriously want to know more about you. Over to you. ? Si
AndrewMKP
We are a Limited company, VAT registered. Recently merged 2 companies to form 1 and now to date spent 5 months of preparation for the new company. We are not even trading as yet as we are ensuring that every possible infustructure and plan is in place before we take the plunge. I cannot at this stage reveal who 'We' are as there is still work to do in certain areas. That's a breif insight into the company profile. Broadband does not necessarily need a lot of support, we are not the cheapest around on the market however unlike other providers we do not 'oversell' or put customers at risk. The broadband connections, networks and secondary systems backup ensure that there are little if any issues. Who have you been with before then that you had a 'bad experience' with and what happened? Regards, Andrew.
Si
Hi Andrew, Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you may be a Ltd company, VAT reg'd etc, but to be honest that means very little, although I do understand and appreciate why you tell me that information. The company I used, does not need to be named, (indeed, no longer exists, unsurprisingly), yet was also a ltd company, (only beneficial to the company directors as a safety net for when/if things go wrong imho), vat registered etc. They basically answered the phone to our customers in our company name and proceeded to be rude, offer inferior service and destroy our company name. Never again. I would probably have to say no, to your offer at this stage as you are a start up and because of our past experience, but wish you well with your venture as not all should be tarred with the same brush and I'm sure you are different....it's just not worth me taking the risk, So, in the words of those on Dragons den, for that reason, I'm out. All the best. Si
AndrewMKP
HaHa. Very understandable but please note this is not a sales pitch or anything of the sort. This is in regards to a broadband mod for WHMCS, nothing more, nothing less at this stage.
othellotech
I'd be interested to see the mod, but not in using a 3rd party for supply of b/band - we're an establish business b/bad provider with our own l2tp links
bear
please note this is not a sales pitch or anything of the sort. That's terrific, as the rules here don't allow for anything of the kind.
AndrewMKP
Thank you for the comment but it was not very relevant bear although it is good to know you appreciate we abide by the rules. Anyhow, back to this much damaged topic. The principle of having a mod in whmcs to sell broadband.. Not a very hard question. The supplier is irrelevant at this stage as it can be changed anyway. Broadband sales through WHMCS. Thoughts?
bear
Would anyone be interested in this mod? You could sell broadband through us or as an affiliate for example. Thank you for the comment but it was not very relevant Is it not? Seemed sort of "pitchy" to me from the start.
redrat
To my mind, any supplier neutral WHMCS broadband mod would be a useful tool for anyone who needs it. I just wonder how that is possible viz a viz supplier specific API considerations?
AndrewMKP
Is it not? Seemed sort of "pitchy" to me from the start. Well bear if you had a little more faith in your members you would realise that most abide by the rules and to be frank is it possible to to have your opinion on the mod. I was refering to the mod in general, it was not a "PM/Email me for more info" therefore was not a sales pitch, thank you. To my mind, any supplier neutral WHMCS broadband mod would be a useful tool for anyone who needs it. I just wonder how that is possible viz a viz supplier specific API considerations? Well I can't let too much on but it involves calling on xml functions

AndrewMKP
OK. I shall watch this thread with interest then. Subscribed. Thanks for your support however there is a lot of development to be done. This won't be available any time soon I shouldn't think
redrat
I see. Fair enough. Even so, assuming this has always been a legitimate research thread, at least to my mind, it will be interesting to see any thoughts on the subject that emerge, if not the somewhat distracting conspiracy banter which I trust is now duly done and dusted.
Zorro67
There might be some interest in this downunder if the mod is also suitable for the Australian marketplace. I know we'd be happy to look at it when the time comes.
