xyzulu
Have a look at the template section of the release notes: Template - WHMCS Documentation
AALayer
8.1 is a huge update, and mostly in the theme sector. Meaning if you use some custom theme or plugin better wait for an update from the developers/designers for 8.1 to work buggy-less.
xyzulu
.. Or just edit the new template by using a child theme. Check the documentation.

I had a customised home page based on the old six theme. Trying to get the content into twenty-one child homepage.tpl to get the same look is an exercise in frustration. The new client area is a vast improvement, but switching themes is impossible...if only WHMCS could learn from WordPress.
xyzulu
There is a new six theme as well.. that might be easier for you.

123host
Thanks for the heads up. I think it is one of WHMCS's many deficiencies (and a serious one) that they don't have a way to push info about bug fixes.
xyzulu
They could do better for sure.. but any bugs that are fixed between releases can always be found here https://whmcs.community/files/categories/

They *HAVE* learnt from Wordpress. The new child theming system is lifted almost identically from how Wordpress does it. You have a main theme and your custom mods are done in the child theme. It's what we asked for 7 years ago. https://requests.whmcs.com/topic/whmcs-child-themes-in-wordpress-style-to-make-upgrades-less-work

What's the rush?
