Purchase of hosting requires a domain name

Recommended Posts

When a potential customer clicks the link on my website to purchase hosting, he is taken to the WHMCS page: Choose a domain - select one of

1. Register a new domain

2. Transfer your domain from another registrar

3. I will use my existing domain and update my name servers.

When I select 3.  I will use my existing domain and update my name servers. and I enter one of my subdomains

I get the ERROR - The domain you entered is not valid

If I use my actual domain it accepts it.

Why will the system not allow me to purchase hosting for a subdomain.

in your product setup, you can add a subdomain option to the product.

Subdomain Options - Enter a domain in the format ".yourdomain.com" if you want to offer a free subdomain option for the domain at signup. You can offer more than one by entering a comma separated list, eg. ".yourdomain.com,.yourdomain.net"

so in your case, you would enter .gwcorphosting.com in the subdomain setup field - then users ordering this product will be given 4 options (register/transfer/owndomain or subdomain)...

using hooks, you could remove any of the other 3 options on a per product basis, but you might not want or need to do that for your purpose.
